Nice clean cork. Pale to mid gold and very bright. Nose is evolved oak as one might expect. Palate is buttery, woody, lemon curd and honey. Nice length to the finish. Classy wine and many years left in the tank for this vintage.

1/2, #4157. Vg cork. Pale/medium straw. Nose is creamy, rich but also quite complex with orange blossom, smoke. Medium/full and weighty on the palate, rich and creamy again but with attractive vibrant contrasting acidity, notes of orange and smoke on the decent length finish. Lovely and still quite youthful.

A bit too much oak for me. Like a NW Chardonnay with all the pineapple. I remember earlier vintages had more class.

J'adore ce vin légèrement madèrisé, sa corpulence, ses arômes virils et sa couleur intense. Après 7 ans de cave, il est encore fringant et se marie parfaitement avec des poissons et fruits de mer au goût prononcé, ou avec le homard sauce à la crème et ciboulette. Pour amateurs de vins corsés légèrement oxydés. Un peu cher.

The wine looks straw colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon, apple and vanilla. It tastes like apple, lemon and vanilla. The body is light/medium. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity.

Second Coravin sample of my only bottle. More open now that a few months ago. Open nose from the start, ready after 15 min in the glass. Savoury, lemony with herb notes. Refined with good precision. I prefer this to the more oxidised style of other whites from the region. Good value. From L&W.

Robust with lemon, lime, melon, flowers and almond notes. Long ripe fresh finish. Great depth to this one. Really well done with balance and just a hint of oxidative notes that ad complexity. Drink now-2022.

Off the list at Txikito for $72. Very nice body, well structured and the flavors seem well delineated. But overall, it seemed like it was holding back and in need of more development in bottle.

Tropical fruit with oak and vanilla notes. Tangy zippy finish. Fairly balanced with ample acidity to handle the ripe fruit profile. Dense with lots of weight. Drink now-2020.

Tasted at the Whitewater Valley Wine Society, Hampshire, UK. Hints of lemon in the colour. This was full of intense aromas of stone fruit, had well integrated acidity and a clean and dry, persistent finish. This wine will age well and possibly take on some petroly notes. This did not suit all palates, some found it too sherry like.

Pas mal mieux que le 2010, moins sur les noix et le boisé prend un peu moins de place. Ample en bouche et au nez mais il y a un certain équilibre ici, celui-ci devrait bien vieillir...j'en ai acheté 3 pour le suivre.

Merci beaucoup de l'alerte Fred Blais. Un blanc de l'Espagne ? Rare que je bois ça.100% Viura.Vieilli 15 mois dans des fûts de chènes Français.Ça me fait penser à un Chardonnay de la Bourgogne.Le bois est certe présent mais bien digeste.Il y a de la poire cuite et un petit peu de miel d'ourson.Une petite touche herbacée et vanillé.Le tout est très digeste. Beau maintenant. 92 pts.

Decanted for an hour, this is full bodied, well balanced, multi layered, good for variety of food (from different tapas to main meals), very good oak management and that clean mineral backbone. OK for drinking now and possibly 4-5y more.

Tasted at the Whitewater Valley Wine Society, Hampshire, UK. Vinified from the Viura grape from 65 year old vines from a single vineyard and made in the traditional way in Rioja Alta near Logrono, this was a broad, oak-aged white wine. On the palate it was rich and creamy and will last until 2020.

Family trip to Rioja - June 2017; 6/20/2017-6/26/2017 (Rioja) : Pear, some lime aromas. Strong cream and French oak notes. Silky smooth on the palate and good finish but I can't get past the oak. Tastes like a white Rioja trying to be white Burgundy.
