this bottle was really singing -- sad it was my last bottle. This has plenty of life left. this was silky - so smooth and fresh on the palate. Beautiful fruit that leaned purple with red berry notes. Lovely balance and finish. I've got to find more!!

Small Tasting & Dinner with Friends : Double blind. Inky garnet color with aromas of herbs, blackberry, cassis, plum and chocolate. Full-bodied and tannic, with flavors of plum, soy, chocolate, barrel spice and blackberry. Fine, firm tannin. Picks up a red dusty quality, almost Rutherford-like. Excellent, albeit young. (R&D)

Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&R's) : Double blind. Lighter color, looks to have some age. Wood spice, black fruit, cedar and plum notes. Full-bodied, with currant, herb and cedar on the palate. Balanced. Leaning ever so slightly towards the “old school” style of Napa cab. (R&D)

My last of this vintage, and it still tasted like it had years of life ahead of it, but I just couldn't wait. Opened, but not decanted for 45 minutes at a NYC restaurant. Medium plus body, with a long finish.

Blind tasting between two 2013 Knights Bridge Beckstoffer Cabernet Sauvignons. Both wines were opened, but not decanted for about 45 minutes before pouring. As a group we preferred the Dr. Crane, 3 to 1, with one person being undecided. Really not much difference between the two. The To-Kalon is about a 1/2 point lower in alcohol.
