Enjoyable again, alcohol well integrated. Not good QPR.

Much improved over the last time I had this. Delicious cherry flavor with a touch of leather. The alcohol at 14.9% was well concealed.

Lots of years left in this one so will leave our last bottle for more time. This is nice. Definitely new world, but not overripe. Plush and velvety and yet there is a good balancing acidity. Opened and decanted and drank over the course of a few hours. Quite enjoyable especially at this price point.

Dark fruit, cinnamon, and baking spices on the nose. On the palate we got ripe blackberry and intense fruit, particularly on the mid-palate, with more baking spices, mocha, and a bit of acidity on the finish that put the balance slightly askew for us. Tannins were very soft and barely said hello. Absolutely beautiful Merlot and a reminder that we really should be drinking much more of it!

Really quite pretty tonight. Having gone through several of these since release, I think it's safe to say this is at peak right now, and prolly best enjoyed in the next 5 years or so; it may last longer, but I'm not sure if it's going to get any better. Popped the cork at 10a, served at 8p, non-blind. Simply stunning nose of creamy red and black fruits, together with vivid floral notes and damp earth. Full bodied, but properly lifted, with well delineated layers of silken fruit. Caresses, elegantly. Easily the best of the four I've had since release. Vintage Select Industry Tasting (Vintage Select Warehouse, Houston, TX) : My favorite of the Coho offerings, mostly because it shows what you can do with Merlot if you respect it. Great nose of plum, black cherry, mocha, spice, and herb. On the palate black cherry, mocha, plum, vanilla, spice. Long finish with serious grip. Needs a lot of time, drink 2016 at the earliest.

Vintage Select Industry Tasting (Vintage Select Warehouse, Houston, TX) : Whoever says they can't stand Merlot is not trying enough of it. This leaves no doubt with a black cherry, plum, mocha, vanilla nose. The aromas repeat on the palate. Finishes with serious grip and nice acid balance. A touch of heat pokes through and distracts. Not quite up to the 07 but still a very good Merlot.

This bottle had been open a few hours. Dark ruby toward purple core. Complex nose of red currants, spice, red floral, fresh plum, soy sauce, grilled herbs and vanilla. Full-bodied with ample acids and sweet, round tannins. Nice mid-palate development, but the structure suggests mid-term cellaring at most. Long, rich finish. Not plush, rather, it is modernly elegant with surprising lift and a seamless mouthfeel. Fights above its weight-class. 331 cs. Drink thru 2018, 14,9% abv, A-
