Paired well with both gazpacho, which brought out the fruit, and brownies.

This is what Zinfandel is supposed to taste like. Made in the traditional method of co-fermenting a kitchen sink blend of Zinfandel clones with tradition field blend varieties like Petit Sirah, Syrah, Carignan, Alicante and many others. Rich, creamy and fruit forward without being flabby, actually quite elegant if you can say that about a Zin. The nose is incredibly expressive fresh plum raspberry and cranberry. The palate is a Zin lovers paradise. Big bramble fruit with all kinds of …

Kelly loves it. Great with food. Dangerously drinkable.

This is a food-friendly crowd-pleaser. It's also delicious with perfectly balanced acidity. Not complex, but who cares for this price and tastiness.

More residual sugar than I picked up in the other bottles I've tried. Obviously not the most over the top Zin there is by any means, but there is still that port-like quality to this wine. Zin zest with lots of fruit. I can't complain at all.

I don't think this wine is getting enough credit from the reviews on here. The fruit is really pure with lovely balance. It's excellent wine. Food friendly and good on its own. Drink now and over the next two years.

Obviously Cali Zin but in a balanced form. Lots of red fruit (red raspberry and ripe (but not overripe) strawberry). Some peppery zing. Great acidity. Medium tannins and a medium finish.

a rather bland every day table wine. i had expected better given Newman's WTSO rating. Perhaps it needs more time in the bottle

Pretty good for this price. The Mockingbird wines are generally very good so I expected this to be nice. It has nice fruit, but not a huge jammy zin, which is good. A nice basic every day zin.

Nose is medium mild intensity, some oak, eucalyptus, menthol. Light to medium body. Light spice and tannins. An easy drinking approachable crowd pleasing wine is its merit. Food not necessary with this approachable Zin. Just not the flavorful wine I'd expect from this terroir. Would buy again for the price and for its niche in the cellar.

A nose of some dark fruit and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied Zin, with blackberry, raspberry, some licorice and spice on finish. Still needs time, decant now. www.winelx.com
