This wine is hitting its stride, wow!!! Deep and rich red berry flavors with a medium body and soft velvet texture / mouth. Red berry with a hint of dusty earth and a faint essence of menthol. Enjoy this wine now or over the next few years - it is awesome!

Double decanted for about 30 minutes and consumed 2 hours later. The wine has a strong perfume nose, the body is medium plus, a massive attack of dark notes and fruits. Spectacular finish.

This 2016 A/O Las Piedras was the surprise of the day. Compared to last two tastings, I really didn’t expect a whole lot, but this wine has risen from the ashes only to land a really nice place. I didn’t take down formal notes at the time, I can say that this wine has significantly improved over the first barrel sample tasting and no doubt in route to greater advancement and refinement in the future. 95 points.

Coiled like a spring and very tight. Quite acidic and showing some elements of soil and minerals. This wine is not at a good drinking point for my palate. 91-92 Points at best. This one is just not ready. I’ll have to revisit this one in a few months.

Decanted for 3 hours and then drank over 6 hours while still in the decanter. It was evolving and getting better every hour. It has a huge nose bold body and long finish. Dark, berries with smoke. The legs in the glass where out of his planet.

3-Day Napa Cab Taste-Off: Vice Versa, B Cellars, Memento Mori, Alpha Omega, Purlieu, Janzen, Realm, Myriad, MACDONALD, Maybach, and more...; 2/7/2018-2/9/2018 (Napa) : Barrel sample. Tight and constricted, this reminded me a little of the 2013 Shafer HSS we had earlier in the day. Not surprisingly, this LPV displayed the blackest, most gravelly properties of the AO lineup. Black rock and asphalt were the notes up-front, followed by black and red currant, fig paste, gray and black pebbles, incense, and …

Whirlwind Winter Tasting in the Valley; 2/7/2018-2/10/2018 (Napa Valley, CA) : Barrel sample. Showing very young at the moment. Very powerful, with lots of jam. Long, lean and linear, this hasn't quite come together. Lots of potential here with the purity, length and flavor profile. 94-96

Inky in color, the black cherry liqueur really stands out in the nose. Opulent, rich, dense and full bodied, this is such a turn on to taste, The multiple layers of fruit coat your mouth and palate. The wine was made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Decanted 90 min and drank over another 90 min. Beautiful ruby red and purple color. Dark, serious, brooding fruit on the nose. Hints of green pepper, cigar, tangerine, toasted almonds and carmelized brown sugar. High acidity on palate with smooth long finish. Full mouthfeel. This wine is still very young and will be more amazing with further integration in a few years.
