I was wrong the last time, this wine is still improving. It has gained some complexity and length. Medium ruby/red color no signs of ambering yet. Bright aromas of red fruit with some clove, red licorice and hints of leather. Full bodied on the palate with silky tannins, fresh acidity and some red fruit. The finish is very long, it keeps on lingering. Maybe I give my last bottle some more time. This wine clearly shows that Barbera can be …

I was able to buy a few more bottles of this wine recently. It is now more balanced and a bit less red-fruit-primary as it was in 2010. It still has that zesty zing to it that makes a good Barbera stand apart from the crowd. Medium ruby-red color. Full aromas of dark cherry, some floral notes and clove. Full bodied with fresh fruit and acidity and well integrated, smooth, tannins. The finish is very long and fresh with a …

cloudy, cherry colour with lighter rim. nose: a lot of ripe and very sweet dark cherries; forrest aromas somwhere behind. taste: pure cherries - really great; very ripe and now is the best time to drink it. Quite important acidity, now rounded and very well incorporated into the wine structure. Bit rough and baked finish makes it more interesting. It was worth waiting for such Barbera to develop.

very dark cherry colour, completely not clear; oily with light rim. nose: very fresh, little bit sweet dark fruits - cherries and sweet cherries; very clean and honest. Unfortunelty some hints of rubber appeard. taste: classic, balanced; accidity came down to more medium level; tannins nicely approchable in the finish. Generaly dry teste of cherreis is the main flavour. Only some steel-bitter accent in the finish lowering the score. Very good to rasted chicken with herbs.

Some Barbera from 2006; 3/18/2010-6/15/2010 : Ruby/red color. Full aromas of cherry, raspberry and roses with some hints of clove. Following trough full bodied with luscious sweet fruit, silky tannins and some serious acidity. The finish is long and fresh with a little 'zing' halfway trough. This is a great Barbera with its rich red fruit, juicy acidity and spicy finish. Beautifully balanced right now, but lots of structure to develop for several more years. Perhaps some potential of a …

Second time trying this bottle and after a great performance the first time I'm finding it very closed and too acidic on this night. Maybe just a phase. The fruit on the nose is ripe strawberry. On the palate a little raspberry but very short.

Given limited experiences with B Mascarello Barolo, I expected this to be tight as a fist, especially so young. What a nice surprise. Beautifully structured bright cherry fruit. There's a little tightness on the back palate, but very drinkable. This is an excellent example of Barbara now and will age and develop well. Yeah!

A big an juicy wine with crisp acidity. Cherry and roses on the nose with a hint of barnyard that keeps it rustic. Cranberry and cherry fruit with mushroom and an earthy fresh finish. Drinking this is like sipping a refreshing glass of (not too sweet) punch on a summers day. This may not be what I expected from the bottle but it sure is fun.
