Somewhat flat, no complexity or layers. the fruit is still dark and flavorful and there is still plenty of acidity but there's just not a whole lot of great stuffing there. A bit of a letdown given the pricing.

I’m a big fan of BV and have historically collected and consumed many vintage BV George de Latour BUT unfortunately I cannot give this bottle high ratings. Not that I gave it the “I don’t like it” rating, I just find nothing on the nose (could be my nose), sharp in the mouth without fruit or other identifiable notes, tight finish suggesting full tannins protecting I-don’t-know-what. I’m saving back half the bottle till tomorrow to see if oxidizing will help.

One of my favorite Cabernets to date. The wine looks violet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium.

OMG. Leafy loamy nose. Plum, pluot, grass, tannin, cranberry palate. SUPER young. This will hang out in the bottle (and should) for at least a decade.

Silky smooth but lacking of complexity or character. Fruit notes have diminished with time. Past its prime

Nice inky color with a oaky nose and dark fruit flavors. Needed some time to open up but was still drinking nicely on day two. Some tanins remain but not sure if the suddle fruit will hold up much longer.

Deep ruby color, woody plum nose, succulent fruit overtones in the mouth, medium body. Still opening up after the decant...should improve but definetly drinking nicely now.

Popped and poured. Dark purple color. Nose was a bit tight with some black currant and blackberries coming through. Ripe, dark fruit, great charred oak flavor with vanilla, strong tannins, balanced alcohol, smooth mouthfeel, long finish. Really well made wine that I think would have benefited from some decanting.

Decanted for 3 hours. Third time for this wine and the extra decant made a big difference. Tons of fruit and a nice finish.

Strong oak and vanilla nose, with black currants trying to peak out of the background. Strikingly tannic palate, tight and unforgiving. Completely overwhelms the fruit, but I think there were some cassis and black fruits in there. Quickly turns to hard drying tannins adding strong vanilla, mocha and earth notes. Obvious complexity, but not enjoyable at this point, and given the harshness of the tannin structure, I'm not sure it ever will be a great wine.

Decanted for 30 minutes. Very dark color. Not much fruit here. This could be past its prime. Hoping for so much more.

Nose of mint, cassis and a little licorice--very enjoyable. Palate flavors of sour cherry, tobacco and cedar. Finish is moderate. Some life remains, but it is drinking well now.

Nose is somewhat tight but shows decent flavors of cherry and plum with a little clove and other spice in the finish. Decent compliment to a mid-rare NY strip but I think actually a grilled pork chop would go even better.

a little lean and astringent. After considerable time in the decanter it started to lose the tough edge, but never got to the point of something I would buy more of.

Traditional inexpensive BV Cab. We buy several cases of the Napa BV at Costco and drink a bottle or two a week. The 2003 is not as good as the 2002 or 2004, but it is decent for the price. If you have the time, decanting for 20-30 minutes really brings out the plum and black cherry flavors. Worth buying for an "everyday" wine.

A little bitter and rough. Alcohol not a factor. The '04 is certainly better.

Opened and tasted. Aromas of blueberries and cinnamon. Palate flavors of cherry, maple, oak. Short finish--just goes away. A nice wine when it gives you something. We'll see what air brings.

Color deep luscious fuschia. Blueberry and blackberry on the nose, with hints of black pepper and oak and a very light touch of acidity. Flavor is very like the scent, from fruit to acid, pepper and oak in exactly the right order. Lingers blueberry and black pepper. Really nice.

This one is right in between a 4 and a 5 star Cab in my book. Dark cherry and ripe but not overripe generic fruits. Nutmeg, Mint, and a little cedar. The acidity is bright to balance the significant tannins. The finish is medium long, dry, and satisfying. No flaws at all. I highly recommend this wine.

Pleasant. If there were ever a time that I've tasted a wine and thought it to be "tight" or "green", this would be it. I'll buy another bottle and sit on it to see if I'm right.

Cherry and light oak on the nose. Very "woody" on the palete, only after being open for a while. Early finish seemed a bit acidic, but not to bad. finished with some mild vanillia.

Nice wine, better than I expected. On the nose, oak, cherry, blackberry and a hint of raspberry. On the palate, medium-bodied with more of the black fruits showing through, and a slightly herbal edge to the tannins on the short to medium length finish. A bit too oaky for my taste at this stage. And I admit to being a bit concerned about what might be hiding behing the young, expressive fruit. I would drink this over the short term …

13.8%. Wow! Big, big nose. Upon opening, expressive nose of lightly toasted oak, leather, berries and a bit of herbs de provence. Medium bodied on the palate, with balanced fruit though a tad tart and juicy. Initially expressive, it tightened up a bit after about 10 minutes...but then steadily came back. Very drinkable. After 2 hours, wine was lush, silky, balanced. Still a bit of tannic backbone. Still very giving on the nose, with fruit, berries, toasty oak. Not particularly …

Very nice wine - amazed at the price point. This would be a good everyday wine to have ready to drink. Dark fruits, some green tannins. Leather aroma.

Opened by a friend, not decanted. On the leaner, more herbal side of Cabernet, with notes of eucalyptus, mint and blackberries. Tannic, with currant and dark fruit flavors on the finish.
