Schloss Vollrads Riesling Eiswein

I always thought that Riesling cannot match the class of Sauternes when it comes to balance between RS and acidity. But today, the 2007 Vollrads Eiswein has a perfect balance. The palate is stronger than in former years and is becoming more and more present, while the nose is reducing a bit in width. Irresistible. You sip and sip and the bottle is empty much too quickly. Great show.

There is power of fruit. Exotic fruits all over. Good balance of acid and sugar. The nose is very complex and changing continously. High class. The palate doen´t follow the perfect example but is still very good. Maybe too much fruity even. Mango all over the place. Color is as golden as it can get. Chapeau Vollrads.
