Good Wine with an Almost Interesting Super Bowl (The Krengels - Bannockburn IL) : Small glass. Probably flawed, this wine made no sense to me, seeming nearly shrill in a lush vintage.

Drank from a magnum with good friends. Three hour decant. Good barolo. Typical ruby barolo color. Nose with red fruit and violets. Medium bodied with good tannins.

Had it at Gattopardo, Singapore. Served BTG (which is a great option), but I decided to go for a whole bottle. Decanted for an hour or so. Medium ruby in the glass. Quite closed for the first 45 minutes, but then just blossoms beautifully. Aromas of red berry fruit at first, but then gives way to strong hibiscus, paprika, violets and rosemary.
