J.M. Boillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens

Drank alongside two other Pommard-Rugiens, '98 and '05 Girardin, this is a very complete wine, and probably objectively the best of the trio, though I loved the energy of the '98 Girardin. Very suave nose with black cherry, baking spice and anise, quite tart on the midpalate, with a long, red currant-laden finish. This really blossomed in the glass and has quite a bit of life left in it.
