Garcia Carrion Rioja Reserva Antaño

Came around after 2 hours. Recommend a2 hour decant.

Garnet purple with a thin clear rim. Plum and rasin with earthy notes. Palate is good acid and fine tannin support for dark fruit and earthy tones.

Good bottle of Rioja. Time to drink. Still good tannins around and the typical vanilla flavour combined with some spicy notes. Opened up after 2 hours.

A surprisingly youthful, 8-year-old Rioja Reserva on sale for $8.00. What's not to like?

Tasted at wine bar. Cherries. Pleasant but a bit one dimensional. Not much finish.

Sour tasting, full bodied.... disappointing to say the least. Not worth its low price.

(13.5%) 80% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha, 5% Mazuelo, 5% Graciano - Warm, oak spiced entry on the palate with subtle, savory, dark red fruits and a pepper laced finished. Unmistakingly Rioja. Spice, oak and warm stay top of mind as I continue to sip this one. Was hoping something more would come into focus but still at $10 quite enjoyable. I thought the '05 was far superior, but still a great wine for $10. Classic Rioja. A mixture of oak, espresso, spice and fruit. It will probably taste better in a few years. A great food wine.

still a good value, but, didn't like as much as the first bottle a few months ago.
