Sancarlo, Brunello di Montalcino

Garnet color with bricking. Not much nose. Sweet cherry and plum on the palate with some tobacco and iron. Sweet fruit dominates the savory aspects. Very enjoyable to drink and very nice for the vintage.

Very smooth. Nice vanilla tones.

This one has cellared well. Pours deep red offering a complex nose of dark fruit with a hint of tobacco. Soft mouth with a delightful lingering finish. 'tis a pity that there is only have one more in the cellar.

Tasted at the winery with the owner of San Filippo, liked it so much I bought a bottle. Decided to open it for my new friends in Lucignano d'Arbia at a dinner of risotto ai funghi - it proved a great match.
