Adelsheim, Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley

A bit old, but I enjoyed. A medium body Pinot which I enjoy over lighter ones.

Delicious. Cheery, licorice, beet, turned earth with good acidity.

Delicate, lighter style served blind Mark guessed Chambolle, then John California and then Oregon. Cherries and raspberries, light, floral, showing very well for a 25 year old base bottling. B++

Light color, wine is moreelegant than powerful. Really sweet cherry fruit (no RS, just a sweetfruit profile) with a little pomegranite edge. Some earth and a touchof poop, gives way to spicy notes. Thoroughly enjoyable, I'm shocked how fresh this is. Held well for quite a while, though after 4 hoursthe ultimate glass was a bit murky (I didn't decant) and less pleasingthan others as it began to fall apart. Cherries on the nose and in the mouth with floral notes. Just a hint of raisin at the end.

Excellent. Still lots of fruit and a very long finish.

Thin tasting, vegetal tasting, do not recommend

Very woody, stemmy musty aromas. Some spice and a bit of vanilla slips through, but it difficult to pick up. In the mouth, a bit woody. Finish is short. Consistent notes with the last time it was tasted. Still disappointing. Perhaps try leaving for another year to see how it developes, but will likely be beyond its life

Drinkable at first and then fell apart after a 1/2 hour.

Palm Springs: Great musky nose; jerky, sweet leather, cola; a bit bright, but with dark overtones. Med bod, med- t’s, blkberry and cola.

Memorial Day Weekend in Willamette; 5/24/2003-5/26/2003 (Willamette Valley OR) : Tasting at winery. Odd nose that almost seemed earthy at this young stage with some char. Good fruit started on the palate but not much spice and very short finish.

Aromatic, toasty, roasted, smoky, coffee and cherry nose. Ripe upfront and assertive with balanced acid and good grip to the finish. 13.4% abv 4.5/5

13.4% alcohol. Distinct barnyard on the nose but it did not carry over into the taste. Earthy dark fruit notes with subtle tannins. 87-88.
