Tried this next to the Pittoresco offering. PnP. Definitely can detect the higher percentage of Cab Franc in the blend. Taste is earthy and predominantly red fruit with a more mellow and smooth mouthfeel. And it got better after a day: The fruits got more pronounced as did the earthy base. I almost gave up on this, but I'm glad I was patient. I have one more bottle. I'll let it sit for awhile longer and make sure it gets …

Out of the bottle it tasted overly extracted, but the last few sips added some really nice tertiary notes. Could be excellent with enough air/development.

Slightly better after another year in the cellar, but still tight and astringent on day 2. Will wait a bit longer and see if time is kind to this one.

Drank this bottle on vacation out of tiny glasses and it showed better than other wines I brought that I've given 91-92 points to in the past. The bold dark fruits and heavy oak showed well in the small glass and the fruit didn't come across as raisiny. I would rate this 93 pts. but I'll rate again when I'm home.

My wife and I had this last night with some grilled lamb chops. I decanted it before serving. I agree that tannins were more prominent on first sip, however, we thought it paired beautifully with the lamb. The tannins softened a bit as the evening progressed.

As another note said, tannins likely will outlast fruit. Astringent and a bit green on opening, day 2 was better but never came into balance. Will set next two bottles aside for a few years.

Does this have a lot of Petit Verdot? The attack is a little cloying and flabby, but I like everything else about this. Dark, ripe fruits. Pretty mineral notes in the glass. Chewy tannins on a longish finish. The nearly overripe fruit prevents a 90 from me but I think this might improve.

Not to my taste, raisiny, needs food.
