Not terrible, just probably not much to begin with and not getting any better.

Nose of black cherry and smoke. In the mouth it is medium bodied and there are some red fruit flavours but everything is quickly obliterated by the searing acid. Low to medium tannins for what it's worth, and the finish is a too long burning of enamel off teeth. Hmmm... one bottle of this left....

Aromas: heat, smoke, pepper, vinailla, baked plum, slight earthiness; Structure: plum, red pepper jelly, slightly thin, acidity overpowers fruit and green tannins give slight bitterness; long, chocolate, slight bitterness, slight pepper; 1.6/3.0

NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Lunch 2005 (Andrew's place) : This is rich and ripe, bordering on bretty, lots of extra-ripe fruits in the McLaren Vale mould. It’s quite loose-knit and rambling on the palate, not overly tannic, but just lacking in interest for me.

Fairly rough and crude when first opened but after half bottle left overnight became quite smooth with lots of depth of fruit and tannin that were not at first integrated or perceptible.
