Domaine Fernand Engel Riesling Praelatenberg Praelatenberg de Kintzheim

Intense nose of ginger. Fairly rich mouth. Floral spicy finish. A bit of heat, but decent.

Pale golden in the glass, lively and fresh, moderately aromatic nose with citrus blossom and ripe apple, pronounced flavors, yellow apple, Meyer lemon, agave notes, hint of ginger, interesting hit of vanilla, rocky minerality, acidity is high, full bodied, long finish. Alcohol is high and seems to overtake a bit as the wine warms.

Chalky, dusty minerality. Full bodied thick, oily, glycerine texture, contributed by the high (14.5%) alcohol that was not intrusive, and cut by a streak of high acdity. Ripe yellow apples and meyer lemons. Complex w a long finish. Maybe could have used some more layers of fruit.

Lovely medium yellow-gold color in glass. Effusive honeysuckle and apricot bouquet. Full bodied on palate (14.5% alcohol). Slightly sweet finish but not cloying. Went well with baked chicken.
