Aromas of citrus, old barrels and some flor/sherry, although not as much flor/sherry as in the Reserva with shorter time in barrels. Concentrated, seamless and extremely balanced and elegant. Delicious!

Vin i Nord Blind BYO; 9/14/2024-9/15/2024 (Byen) : Nose with light petrol, almond, marzipan, clementine, and mandarin. Slightly sweet. On the palate, it offers crisp fruit and candy flavors. It's concentrated, with almond and citrus notes mirroring the nose. The wine has good acidity and a medium-length finish. This could have been Alsace Riesling, but it was something quite different.

Concur w/Oropeza - something unbalanced about the finish, but not sure if I would characterize as flabbiness, perhaps a bit bitter. But, yes nice and light on the entry

Tropical fruit up front, very nice... fades quickly, not much flavor to the core, finish is short on lower acidity giving the general sense of flabbiness. Love the entry, not much here otherwise.

Tasted blind. Mineral driven nose with fruit, peach, citrus, and some tropical notes. Good acidity with lemon, peach, minerality, and citrus notes on the palate. Good finish. This was hard to place and maybe a bit simple overall.

Medium gold. Golden delicious apple dominates the nose with lemon, honeydew, chamomile, wet stone. Palate note is identical. Nice minerality, medium acidity, medium alcohol and a pleasant mouthfeel. Medium plus bodied. A well-put-together wine, if not overly complex.

Short note - gooseberry, garden hose/tennisball, greene apples, lime peel, medium acidity, grapefruit in finish, medium finish, hint of flor in finsh, very good quality, but lacks some balance in my opinion, oily and seems like the alcohol is higher than it actually is. 86p

Agree with a lot of notes on here, but the one thing I found missing, and what may have developed (at least for my bottle) is the note of pineapple> Loads of it!

Not a particularly fruit forward wine on either the nose or palate, but it kind of screams Viura. Despite not being particularly pronounced, the fruit is pretty diverse, with yellow apple, lemon, a bit of pear and melon, which all seem to have a slightly bruised quality. What does come through are the wooly, lanolin notes that you always get with Viura, a touch of chamomile, a good dose of slightly bitter green almond, a slight anise tone, chalky minerality …

100% Viura (outside of Rioja, it’s known as Macabeo). Viura is by far the most widely planted white grape in Rioja. Viura/Macabeo is also one of the three main grapes that goes into Cava (Macabeo, Xarel-lo, and Parellada). CVNE has been making Monopole since 1915, making Monopole the oldest white wine of Spain. The first vintages of Monopole were aged in oak and blended with (of all things!) Manzanilla Sherry. Today, Monopole is aged completely in stainless steel. pale lemon …

Hardly the oxidative, old school Rioja style, it almost comes off as an Albariño, with fresh summer fruits, crisp body and salty finish.

Interesting. Lemon and grapefruit, plus pear and a slightly bitter herbaceous taste. There's a (leesy?) creaminess adding to the body. Nice, but pair with cheese, rather than fish, due to medium acidity.

Paired excellently with some Iberico cheese. Nice balance of acidity, minerality, and fruit. Excellent QPR.

Apricot, apple, lemon with herbal notes. Finishes dry with good length. Well balanced with a soft mineral character. Very good QPR. Paired well with halibut with squash, tomatoes, capers and a white wine sauce.

Well balanced, fresh pear, light orange zest and tangy but not overly sweet red apple.

PnP. Definite floral and mineral notes on the nose. These followed through to the palate, but were moderated by a good dose of white fruit. The acidity is more than enough to balance all else and cleanse the palate. Should hold for a few more years.

Most reminds me of a Viognier or maybe a Gewurtztraminer that's been fermented completely dry (perhaps too dry) yet retains the floral character. Slight bit of heat as well. Not entirely sure what to make of it. Russet Apple finish.

Dry, with mineral, acidic flavor, but still the fruit (pear?) Comes through. I think best with food, but I do like it!

As a slighty oxidative feel of Viruira. With some white fruit and soil.
