12,50% alc., Purpurrot, transparente R�nder, dezente Nase, Sauerkirschen, am Gaumen einfach und unkompliziert, Sauerkirschen, zarte Bitterschokolade, mittlerer Abgang mit leichten Bitternoten. Der Wein ist unkompliziert zu trinken - man darf sich nat�rlich nicht zuviel erwarten. F�r den Preis kommt eigentlich zu wenig. Als einfacher Essensbegleiter OK.

Had this one after the 2005 Chateau Grand Colombier Bordeaux. This one tasted a bit more balanced, with more fruit coming through too, than the Colombier, which had some slight acidity to it.

QPR Smackdown (my place) : nose: lush and beautiful dark cherry nose with earthen tones, purple florals, mixed berries, perfumes, and some green pepper tones start to poke through. A good amount of depth on the nose with a touch of class too taste: very elegant and regal with dark cherries, purple florals, mixed berries, and some green pepperish tones. Budget wines done Blind (Keith's house) : Tasting blind, slight rim bricking hinted toward a little age. Slightly reductive nose, hint of red fruit (cherry, strawberry), a dried fruit (almost fig-like) component and dried dark red fruits with a hint of vegetables coming & going. Quite a nose! Didn't had much to offer either very closed or just boring

Had at Ruth and Jeff's. Tasted single blind against 1999 Beringer Vineyards Merlot Private Reserve Bancroft Ranch. This is an easy, uncomplicated, mediocre wine. Not offensive, although it did have a bitter note in the mid-palate.

Bouquet of tart red cherries and a little floral character. Didn't get any of the powerful initial oaky bouquet referenced in my previous review . . . I may have pulled that out of my arse! The taste of tart cherry was too sour to me. Secondarily, had red currant. Nice tannins, short finish. Still have another bottle to get through <sigh>.

blind tasting: bouquet initially was very oaky and powerful, almost like Opus One; but dissipated quickly. I also got a little floral character. Taste: cherry/strawberry (?), about 15 sec finish. (PF) SE: bouquet of spearmint and vanilla. Taste: good tannins, drinking well now, liked.
