Still kicking! surprised to see this particular wine still drinkable but it was pretty tasty. the fruit has faded a bit but so have any edges. very drinkable. Stored at room temperature for a decade probably. Decanted for sediment.

A good Malbech. Well stored. Perfect mach to bloody beefs. Good balanced fruit, soft tannins and quite long aftertaste. Almost full bodied.

So easy to drink. I have stepped up from my go to Malbec but you need to get the Oak Cask

Deep color, luscious, fruity, not as long a finish ad I expected, probably will have softened a bit by tomorrow.

Delightful! A blend of oak and dark fruits with a creamy textured finish. My favorite Malbec under $10.

Nice Malbec. Needed breathing time - decanted. Started to round out after about 1 hour. OK with Salmon

A very interesting malbec. A little on the tamer side but not in a bad way, it's very easy drinking w/ a good plum, peppery & w/ slight smokey taste. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very nice and powerful wine. Aromas of wood and blackberry, a little bit of minerals. Smooth tannins and returning fruit in the mouth.

Quite muted in comparison with most Malbecs; lacks the pronounced character, providing a subtlety that makes it appropriate for serving with less robust dishes. It has an initial bitterness about it that I found quite pleasant. Bought at $6, quite drinkable at this price.

This wine's grapes come from the upper area of the Mendoza region, and its 12 months in american and french oak, 60% in oak, 40% in stainless. All oak is second and third use, no new here. They used to have the oak at 90% but people wanted more fruit expression on the wines. More spice character, more richness, more fruit than the "varietal" range. At $10 its pretty darn good wine.

Had at the Red Jacket Mountain View with dinner with friends. Very understated flavors. Not much spice and dark fruit that I expect from most Malbecs. Very smooth and soft which I attribute to the oak. OK as a daily drinker but not one of the Malbecs that represents a screaming value.

This wine is very poorly made - awkward and cheap on the palate. Old funkiness that an be found in any four dollar French red from the grocery store. Notes of rubber tires dominate. This wine is non delicious. I dumped my glass and returned the bottle to my local Trader Joe's.

A good wine with a medium to dark fruit color. Immediately receive a alcoholic nose with dark fruit. Dry finish. Once the bottle opens up, it becomes clear of the dark fruit and easier to enjoy. Still has a strong alcoholic finish though.

Good solid performance. Drank aerated with Vinturi - so bypassed a lot of the posted issues. For price not a bad Malbec - although granted can do better with a few $$$ more in Argentinian malbecs.

Not going to spend any time with a formal note other than to say it was very drinkable and not too oaky as the name might imply.

Wakefield Liquors goes to Argentina (Store Four) : Like I wrote before, this is the sweet spot for this label. Good fruit, decent structure, easy to drink, but pairs with food well. An easy ten dollar purchase.

Deep inky purple. Nose of wet rocks and plums. Fuzzy tannins and noticeable alcohol level, but not objectionable. Tastes like cherry cola, blackberry, licorice. Finish lingers quite a while. The second glass was much better than the first, which seemed flimsy. color 5/5 nose 7/10 taste 16/20 balance 7/10 finish 4/5

This was a really nice surprise for me. It was $9.99 which is a fantastic deal imo. Opened with a splash decant. Nose of dark berries and some vanilla. I did not get much spice or earth in my experience, but the wine had very nice polish and elegance for a sub-$10 bottle of wine. The mouth feel was creamy and it demonstrated a very nice balance of fruit. It is not complex but the flavors are in very nice …

This seems to be the sweet spot for Trapiche. It's better in my eyes to the Broquel label. Enjoyable nose of malbecness, or red fruits with a little bit of earthy, rubber stuff. Medium bodied on the palate, with a little oak (but not too much). Some of that rustic quality. This is a nice malbec. 87+

Decent wine for the price. Not as fruit forward as other Argentina Malbecs but still quite drinkable. Still think the Alamo Malbec is the best in this $10 Malbec range. The Trapiche is a good food wine more than just stand alone. Lot's of spices.

A harmonious and structured wine showing a dark violet color with a vigorous nose including mostly dark berries, fresh rosted coffee beans and toasty oak hints. On the palate an intense, elegant and enticing wine with a short-graceful finish. I was awed by the taste of the 2005 vintage; this time, the 2006 is just a confirmation of how a wonderful and well made wine at an affordable price should be. A $20 quality wine at under $10 value; stop …
