Pale brick colour. Bouquet has strawberries and red fruits, mixed with some tar and tobacco. Body is fairly light. Tannins are moderate. Very dry finish. Red fruit flavours are most dominant (almost slightly sweet) but not a huge flavour profile. An easy drink.

From the cellar: 2011? Well, first, here’s a forgotten bottle. (It happens.) This is a pale, garnet-brick shaded Nebbiolo. The nose is classic-albeit a bit on the earthy, leathery & nutty side - with some dried strawberry & currant fruit. Loads of thyme & pencil lead as well. It’s medium weight… yet powerfully present, with firm, well embedded tannin. Drinking well now but 4-6 years left easy.

Nice garnet colour, rim starting to show. Earl grey tea, tar, leather, rose petals on nose. Med-high acid, grippy tannins. Cherries and earl grey, similar palate to nose. Classic Barolo, a nice surprise for the ‘11 vintage.
