Jaimee Motley Wines Mondeuse Argillet

Tinge of purple color on the rim. Fresh, but still with that undertow of sandalwood cutting through.

Enjoyed this wine. I have hardly any experience with Mondeuse (think this was only the second I’ve ever tried). Not much fruit here - maybe some blackberry, but there is good structure, balance, and something woodsy, herbal, amaro-like which I can’t quite put my finger on, but kept me very interested over 2 days.

Bright clear purple. Forward, lively raspberry with a tang-it somehow reminds me of Gamay. Light to medium weight. Crisp red fruit, an herbal twist, excellent acidity, and a good, soil filled finish. In its flavor profile, more reminiscent of Pinot, and not domestic Pinot at that. Pretty interesting wine poured with enthusiasm by Paul Einbund at The Morris in San Francisco.
