Consistent with last tasting a year ago. In a good place, fully mature with bright red fruit and licorice mixed with some rustic edges of herbs, garrigue, and gravel. Drink over the next few years. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 90.

Much improved over previous tastings over two years ago. Opened and decanted for an hour ahead of roasted chicken, mash potatoes, and carrots. Dark, murky crimson color. The nose brings loads of red licorice, candied strawberries, cherry blossoms, sage, and herbs. The palate is medium-full, dense, textured, and silky, bringing a round entry of ripe red cherries, blackberries, red currant, licorice, and cobbler pie. Consistent with previous notes but still monolithic. Needed about 4+ hours of air to open up and reveal its flavor profile. Great balance of acid and oak as well as fruit and savory notes. Not a lot of depth and complexity but it does bring good weight and texture. Drink after 2020. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 89.

Glass: Schott Burgundy Popped and poured. Unfiltered, deep ruby-garnet color with fine sediment. Clean, medium- intense, developing nose, with amarena cherry, barn, oak, some smoke and a bit of bacon. Dry with some sweetness coming from the alcohol (14% abv) and extract. Medium, well integrated acidity, high, fine-grained, velvet tannin. Everything well balanced. Still lots of fruit (dark cherries), herbs, spices. Full bodied, medium+ finish, maybe a bit biting alcohol. I don’t have much experience with these kind of wines …

has become what it should be and decanting at least an hour helps significantly. this is rugged but reasonably balanced now, nice acidity, good with food and without. certainly palate coating. if i could just go back in time and skip on so many paso big reds priced 3-4x as much as this i'd be rich and probably happier...

Consistent with previous notes a year ago, though the bright red fruit has emerged more distinctly, along with dried herbs, red licorice and cinnamon spices. Nice, campfire garrigue on the nose. Tannins still thick on the tail. Needs rich food, so not at all hot. Still awkward, but enduring. Drink over the next ten years.

Had with takeout meatloaf and mixed veggies. Decanted 30-min prior to dinner and it needed much more time. Big, compact, full-bodied wine. Lot's of potential with a textured, lengthy finish, but this is still grippy and astringent. Great red fruit, hints of garrigue, and a deft touch with oak make this a potential rock star. Drink 2015-2024.

A more delicate and refined version of Vacqueyras with good acidity and balance, medium bodied, with a decent if not long finish. Definitely not the big, bold, muscular version from this region but still plenty of fruit and spice that paired quite well with a grilled Cajun rub chicken. Somewhat tannic on opening but softened significantly. Open it at least 45 minutes before you want to drink it.

Needs decanting (~ 2 hours+). Not drinkable with PnP. Nice medium tannins, red berries, good acidity, very spicy, peppery. At room temperature (22 °C) the alcohol came through quite a bit. Fair QPR at € 16,50.

Various restaurants in Cork and Dublin; 3/7/2011-3/12/2011 (Cork and Dublin, Ireland) : Clear light ruby colour, like a villages Burgundy; vibrant, youthful raspberry-rhubarb scent; very lively acidity on the palate with velvety tannins and penetrating sharp soft fruit; shortish finish. A wise choice by our generous host from the excellent wine list at Dax restaurant in Dublin; it matched pork, beef and even - faute de mieux - scallops/St. Jacques. Pricey of course at 46€. 89P(+)

Medium red. Very fresh raspberry and mineral nose. Delicious red fruit flavours. Rich and a bit hot. Delicious both at the winery and on the dinner table.
