Super impressive at 15yo. Big (very) bold Barossa Shiraz but somehow light and ethereal as well. The nose -> incredible spice, gentle smoke, vanilla and dark plum/red fruit. Immense concentration on the palette. Sense this will be even better at 20 yo, 25 and perhaps 30. 3 of these to go so will hopefully be around to test them out!!

15.5% abv. Clear plum purple color, not much bricking over ten years. Ripe fruit forward Shiraz, berries, smooth, minimal tannins, still fresh, med weight, med finish. Enjoyable, ready to drink now on pnp.

Langton's VII masterclass with Andrew Caillard MW (W Hotel Guangzhou) : I've got to be honest, this was actually pretty awesome. massive and ripe and clearly from some very old vines. thyme, chocolate, berries and spicy oak, this is thick, rich, as ripe as anything and yet so well balance and drinkable. the oak and tannin you really don't notice. excellent acidity. this needs years and years but wonderful today. not a style i normally gravitate towards but really impressive.

Just superb and one of the best shiraz I've tried in quite a while. Silky, silty tannins that just coat the mouth with the most amazing flavour - blackberries, plums, roast beef, toasty oak. Even a hint of red fruit. Length supreme. It's only young but there was nothing wrong with drinking this now - in fact, I think it might actually be better as a younger wine.

Rich, fully packed and full throttle. This is by no means one of those over the top efforts, but it is certainly a very young wine. The nose delivers abundant minderals, earthiness, licorice, tones of red meat and game adjoined by subtle roasted and green notes. It is quite impressive. The palate is massive with a slight whiff of heat, but its most striking is a lovely balance and future promises of perfect integration. This is an incredibly nice wine …

Sweet tarry nose, then massive black fruit attack but the elgant structure holds it perfectly. Very special to be drinking this pre-phylloxera wine, however, commercially I would buy two of the Orphan Bank for one of these. If you keep these for 15 years...that would be different.

This has a great bouquet of concentrated black fruit & an element of charred steak on a grill. Massive fruit but buoyed by elegant structure. Seriously old vine fruit treated lovingly. So tasty, the 15% alcohol sneaks up on you. Be careful because it's so nicely integrated. Looking forward to drinking this case over the years to come.
