Ooph- this wine is a bruiser! First of all, white Northern Rhone varietals, particularly Roussane, can age with the best of them when well made, and this wine is in great shape. There is not a hint of adverse effects of age on this 11 year old white. I would extend the CellarTracker drinking window 5 if not 10 years. This wine is a real Big 'Un. In terms of weight, this could hold its own with any overblown Aussie …

Extracted fruit from classic Rhône varietals, this bottle was beautiful and in a great place

nice and ripe, sweet on the nose, with orange blossom. Nice acidity here balancing out the ripeness.

At 14.1% ABV, this monster wine pours a pale straw color with slight cloudiness and thick, unctuous legs. On the nose, the wine is very floral with an overarching scent of oak and honey, which is supported by a bouquet of citrus, tropical fruits, vanilla, lychee and vanilla. This is a very delicate and exquisite nose. On the palate, the wine has a medium structure accentuated by a mineral core and low acidity. The heat of the alcohol brings out …

This was a medium bodied, exquisite wine. The nose was light with honey and tropical fruits that carried over to a slightly oak-y and citrus palate. Sumptuous and floral, the finish was lingering if not powerful. It paired surprisingly well with orange chicken, I believe that it would hold up nicely on its own.

Nice wine. Floral, some marzipan, a touch of honey and butter. Light on the oak which is much appreciated. C thought better w/ the fish, I thought drank pretty well on its own. Not sure it's worth the tariff, but certainly good.

Charity Dinner (Rhys, Corra, Clerc Milon +++) : What a beautiful showing for this wine. It does have a fair amount of oak showing which may be problematic to some, but I thought, especially with food, it handled it. The nose has lifting aromatics as well. Floral notes, wax and vanilla. Full bodied. On the palate, this is round and robust. Citrus notes predominate, but there is an underlying earthy quality. Great finish. Kept developing in the glass.

Tropical, fun and an awesome starter. Layers of lemon, pineapple and a hint of grapefruit. Had a nice mouthfeel and great balance between fruit and acidity. I really like the combo of these two varietals, much more than on their own.

Banana peel and popcorn are the first things that come to mind when tasting this wine. It has settled down a lot since last summer. Just delicious. A Belgian blond beer of the wine world. (92)

This needed an hour to open up. But finally a nice floral nose with honeysuckle and tropical fruit. Similar fruits on the palate - the best glass was by far the best. Decant next bottle.

Hmmm, not really up my alley in style but still a nice wine for sure if you like a heavier style white. It actually was not as oaky as I expected (but still obvious), but the palate weight and viscosity is immense. Im sure they went to great lengths to achieve this with the great fruit profile, but I just prefer a bit lighter weight and more acidic style. Really nice length on the finish and actually surprised me with …

Don’s 50 50th birthday bash (Don's house) : If you like SQN whites, you may like this a lot more than me. Detergent note to start that is bothersome, flowers and ripe fruit. The noticeable alcohol and lack of acidity make the wine heavy and cloying. This will be a very controversial wine.

Great wine for seafood. Drank at Cafe Rio with sandabs and mussels. Went perfect. Floral and peaches. Great balance and elegance. First Viorous- love it. Again, the perfect wine for seafood restaurants.

I liked this wine very much. Not sure of the cost, but I do like this wineries white wines. The nose is slightly floral with a bit of a waxy quality. Rich yet crisp. The palate has some peaches and some waxy lemons. Nice acidity. Really mouth filling. Long finish. A very nice wine.

We always love this offering from Kongsgaard, and the most recent vintage is another hit. Typical white Rhone style- this is almost oily in texture. The viognier is noticeable mainly in the nose - beautifully floral in nature. This is drinking well now and will probably peak in a couple of years.

A bit all over the place. Nice pear and honeysuckle nose interrupted by strong oak and sulfur. Totally disjointed right now. Need to reevaluate in 2012. (85+?)
