A superb wine, saved for my birthday dinner. The 3+ hours it spent in the decanter was a bit of a roller-coaster ride, as it changed identity several times, opening and closing, revealing acidity then hiding it again, and displaying various facets of dried fruit, pressed flowers, Madeira, and wet leather. In the end, if finally calmed down into something suitable for the cocoa & chile notes of my wife's celebrated Mole sauce, with deep chocolate and spice notes of …

Tastes of leather and earth along with dark berry. Not too sweet. Strong finish.

Big wine but very little in the way of subtleties. Still closed on the nose...Hope it continues to improve

When first corked, it had a strong fruity bouquet, but also had a high alcohol smell. After second and breathing for 15 minutes it opened up nicely.

Bold and full bodied yet well rounded and superbly drinkable even without decanting. Quite luscious. Dark red and quite a bit of sediment.

Black with deep ruby rim. Pretty nose of powdery floral perfume and smoke. Full bodied on the palate with black cherry flavor and loads of sweet, ripe tannins.

This one pours opaque with mild aromas including lavender and ripe berries. Viscous and round with mild acidity. The flavor components are muted displaying a mild degree of ripe blackberry fruit and chocolate. The finish lingers with a bit of cranberry.

Very good wine especially for such a young wine, our first but definitely not last Lolonis petit sirah. Enjoyed w/ Kim after return from Vegas with grilled pork tenderloin which was actually a very good match for this wine. Nose youthful with very exuberant floral and cherry bouquet, good mouth feel and mid-palate with longer then expected aftertaste. Very well integrated and smooth for on '05 petit sirah with floral bouquet settling down to a more earthy taste with flavors …
