A touch harsh at first, better with 45 minutes of air. Raspberry and forest floor on the nose. Higher pitched red fruit with good acidity and minimal tannins. Nice wine but not going to get better. 90 points

This wasn't the wine I thought it was! This was nice but seemed to me to need a little more bottle age to show really well. On its own had some tart red cherry fruit and raspberry. Much better with food (grilled Atlantic salmon and wild and long-grain rice with herbs and roasted vegetables, cooked in chicken broth), where it picked up some earth notes and a little funk. (I thought this was the less expensive 2011 wine - oh …

Typical Inman elegance with red cherry & raspberry fruit, moist earth, bright acidity and a medium-bodied, silky texture. Starting to show some age with a bit of tea color on the edges. There was just a hint of bitterness on the palate.

Pnp. Noticeable heat on the nose, which blew off after about 30 min. Bright acidity and fruit considering the '09 vintage with a little earthiness. The alcohol still had a tendency to dominate the fruit, but nice lasting finish of watermelon bourbon. Color showing a little sign of rust from age, but still has another 3-5 years of age ahead of it. We enjoyed it for something with interest.

Same wonderful notes as in the previous bottles. Bright strawberry, some spice. One more bottle left. These do get better with age.

My last bottle from the stash I bought at the winery. This is vibrant and elegant. Spicy with plenty of cherry, minerality, and licorice, with a long finish.

Dark fruit with some tar, but light bodied. Fresh and light and lovely with mineral. Nicely complex, a really nice wine.

Removed from cool storage and opened about 50 minutes before a dinner of roasted chicken with vegetables. Some initial volatiles, cherry aroma and dirt. Color is cherry to garnet with some brown in it. A bit of California at the finish with some delicate spice. This seems to be more Burgundian and delicate in feel than most California Pinots that we have had. After about 20 minutes and some warming towards room temperature there are aromatic floral notes. Delicious. Put …

Aired for about 45 mins. Pretty pale garnet with orange flashes. Very fragrant nose, with flowers, violets, cherries, strawberries. Pleasant on the palate, not tart but rather elegant, with aged red-fruit flavors buoyed by just enough lifting acidity. Light-bodied for a CA pinot, it's refreshing and easy to drink. It's drinking very well now, will probably hold for awhile. Excellent.

It's lost its baby fat and much of its fruit, and has matured into an earthy and Burgundian styled wine. It almost goes down too easily with its 13.4% alcohol.

Drinking very well now. Bright strawberry, some spice, nice finish and balance. Very food friendly but also nice to enjoy by itself.

Bright rose red, clear. Nice nose of caramel, flint, watermelon. Light acidity and tannins. Large mouthfeel - more than the 2008 - maybe more oak and less fruit, creamier and richer, but still some good funk. Medium finish. Very much the same OGV style, but a bigger for sure though still delicious and young.

The color looks like a well aged Burgundy. Pretty aromatics. The palate is deceptively big. Lots of bright crunchy fruit clocking in at 13.4%. Enjoyable out on the patio on a warm summer evening.

I was relieved to see my earlier note here. This is very serviceable Pinot from RRV. But 70 bucks? It's 30 dollar Pinot. To be fair I can't speak outside this particular vintage, because I haven't had any others. By I notice some wineries are starting to source grapes from here. At this point I would need to taste first before I buy again. Nice family though. It was fun meeting them to buy the bottles I own.

Bright fruit and good structure. Drinks nicely now, but has the potential to improve with more time. Posesses more depth than the straight Russian River.

Bright cherry-cranberry fruits with rhubarb, all spice. Perhaps the slightest hint of cola, but not dominant at all. Good acid, and well structure especially for the vintage. Moderate length. Needs a bit of time. 90+.

Drank over two nights. Delicious. Medium bodied, ruby red. Strawberry, mulling spice on the nose. Zesty acidity in the first night gave way to a fuller mouthfeel on the second. Classy stuff, good on its own and with food. The OGV just seems to get better every year.

Blind Tasting Domestic Pinot Noirs; 12/7/2012-12/14/2012 (The House - Woodley Park) : Light ruby color. The burst of rhubarb and white pepper on the nose is really interesting. Underneath, aromas of raspberry jam, wild strawberry and rose petals. The acid on this wine is really superb, giving the wine incredible freshness for a New World pinot. Raspberry and wild strawberry fruit flavors blend nicely with white pepper and incense. Medium-to-fine grained tannins provide structure. Long, zesty finish. It would probably …

Way over priced and therefore disappointing when it drank more like a store bought pinot. In fairness I haven't liked much of the 2009 vintage.

Medium cherry color. Youthful nose of red cherry, black cherry, and minerals. This is more restrained than the 2008, by far, and it shows bolder structure in terms of both acidity and tannin. Texturally very compelling at this early stage, the fruit is elegant and focused. Really wonderful potential coming here. A-

Very good. Light red color (almost looks like a rose). Thin legs. Oak, spice on the nose. Light Cherry flavor up front, but then a strong finish. Looks deceiving. Borders on "Delicious." Note: this is actually '09 Pellegrini BROTHERS (not in database)

Was pretty surprised to see this at my favorite local wine bar on the list by the glass. Not complaining, just thought this was outside the price range of affordable by the glass. Glad to be proven wrong. Not sure this is the best Pellegrini I have ever tasted, but definitely a big step above what we usually drink in pinot by the glass. The color is dark magenta, but we can still see our 2 fingers. True pinot nose, …

Just bottled, but showing well regardless. Red cherry color. Pretty nose that is classic for this vineyard: black cherry, light spice, a keen floral note, and plenty of minerals. In the mouth, a laser beam of fruit that is elegantly styled and beautifully balanced. Showing really endearing mouth feel already and a touch of tannins on the finish, which is nice to see in a lot of 2009 California Pinots. A-

California style. Too big for me. I like my Pinot's light and earthy, not fruity and oaky. No doubt this was basically a good wine for the money, though.

Nose: A bit lemony combined with some kind of berry or watermelon. And I know this will sound strange but the nose even has a bit of a rubber band or prophylactic smell. Taste: Light and a bit thin. An average Pinot in my opinion especially compared to Wellington's Woot Cellars D'Ontespille Le Black which I like so much better.
