Wonderful Santa Barbara pinot. I can't believe that this is still drinking so well. Needs 30-45 minutes to open up. Very Pinot-like earthy elements. Did not detect heat or much cherry influence. Very balanced, with a very good mid-palate and finish. There is a lot going on here and everything about this wine says "have a great time".

- It's overly acidic. Round texture.

Drinking well, but should go another several years at least. Showing a more earthy, herby side with some mushroomy funk. Fresh, med/high acidity on palate. Red fruits on the palate, though floral aromas are there as well. Mid-weight, nice finish showing some well-integrated oak. Thoroughly balanced and elegant. Cola flavor and a bit of heat do stick out a bit at times, but a minor nit on that. Needed about 30 minutes to open up with decant.

This opened with some very interesting notes of damp forest floor and sauteed ‘shrooms, fresh-picked cherry, mom’s herb and spice rack next to the sink, and a mysterious and penetrating smell I still can’t put my finger on. The Roessler was quite effusive on the palate, but not exactly focused. It continued its raspy expression of the spice rack on the palate, and even chimed in with notes of cedar and clove, buried in the lingering notes of red fruit …

Palate: earthy tones, balanced fruits but highly pronounced tannins. this is not a soft pinot noir. coffee and caramel hints on a long finish

Absolutely recommend, great dinner wine. Give it a little time to open up, nice bouquet, layers of fruit, earthy, nice mouth feel.

Friday night at home - prep for the Saturday MHS Football BBQ. Just ok - not great. Had it with some pasta with tuna and shaved cheese.

Cherries, smoke, spice, mossy earth, sage, and a hint of game on the nose. Medium to full bodied with a savory flavor profile on the palate with a soft core of firm acidity that, and a spicy cocoa finish with beautiful finesse.

Nice amount of smokiness/herbiness/earthiness for a cali pinot. When that stuff is present to balance out the nice cherry flavors and touch of acid, it makes for a nicely balanced bottle of wine.

Quite nice. Fruity yet earthy. Wine kept opening up with time. There was one rather unusual but very nice bery flavour I couldn't place.

Jean really enjoyed it because it had the "smell she likes": Remember it having black sherry, cola, hint of herbs and maybe some clove on nose. Very well balanced, well made Pinot Noir and a good value. Would get again.

Family Winemakers San Francisco (Fort Mason San Francisco) : Tasted at the Family Winemakers in SF. Quick notes: low acidity with dark nutty tastes and a dry finish. Fair.
