Last bottle! Darn. Drinking very well, yellow fruits, round, brioche, has some weight and secondary development, good length, feel very BDB, doesn't have red notes of BDN. Compared to the Longitude NV I tried recently, this feels like a single vintage bottling whereas the Longitude has the added dimensions from the perpetual reserve but hey, that's a vintage vs NV factor. Maybe I should look for a later vintage of this, always enjoy L-B

Golden and biscuity, and in a good spot. There's also toast, membrillo, red apple skin, sweet orange and smoke... it's pretty classical but also complex and nuanced. Lovely balance too, both rich and svelte. But the sensational 2011 is just that bit creamier and more compelling.

Beautiful Champagne. In a good place. Went great with caviar.

Park Place - Matsutaki Mushroom Dinner : I only had a small pour of this and I didn't take detailed notes, but I thought this was great. Concentrated, yet precise and elegant. Some toasty, savory notes along with some citrus and yellow fruits. I wish I had another bottle or two.

I suppose that I fall in the middle of the many reviews: a sophisticated, fine champagne to be sure. Ready to drink, definitely. And nice nose with a hint of brioche, lemon, a tiny bit of apricot and wisps of green apple. On the palate, middling rich, mature, finely made. But I kept searching for the finer sinews and persistent complexity and came up with a very good food wine but not a stand out.

Magnum. Beautiful fruit on the mature side, a wine with nerve, finesse and concentration. Creamy and well balanced with fine acid. Quite complex. Probably close to peak

This was a little woody. It was good but not great.

This wine came across as tight at first - lots of green apple on the nose and palate with not a ton of complexity. Once the bottle had been opened for an hour it showed much more complexity - nose was cirtus dominated with both mine and tangerine. Palate showed a lot of doughiness, orange oil and almond. Finish was very nice and had a bit of nuttiness to it. My advice is to decant or cellar a couple of …

This was absolutely wonderful. At peak, and being a Blanc de Blanc extra brut and the way that it is drinking, I would say to drink in the next 2 or 3 years. Won't improve further and I don't think it will hold much longer without falling off.

From the June 2019 disgorgement. 100% Chard from old vines in Cramant. Tasted over 2 days. For Day 1, this has a toasty, citrus peel nose. The palate shows zesty green apple, lemon oil. With air, the energy improves and the flavors evolve to add yellow apple and peach. On Day 2, my overall impression of the wine is delicious. The yellow apple is present, along with an orange flesh and anise. Juicy, with a creamy, minty finish, in what …

Thai and Riesling Night : [Thai and Riesling Night - Nine Rieslings] Fairly atypical Champagne to my palate. Yeasty/toasty with unripe orchard fruit, apricots and citrus, buttered toast. Fairly aggressive mousse. 89-90 for me tonight.

This is a delicious wine. The 2011 vintage was better in my opinion, with a rounder, sweet cream note, but this has most of the weight and pear flavor with a mineral edge. Slight acrid note on the finish but all in all delicious stuff.

Loved it, a very different style champagne compared to the Pierre Peters Les Chetillons 2013 I had right before. This one probably had a touch more oak, but equally powerful with a lot of presence. Also quite a joy to have with food. A very interesting back to back comparison. I'm sure this is more affordable, but still very impressive.

Wow, what a great Champagne. It has a depth, roundness and seamless nature that almost belies the fact it's a Blanc de Blancs. The age and the solar year make it nicely evolved to enjoy right now. It has so much going for it and was a steal for $79 via R Squared.

Beautiful nose to the wine. I got apricots immediately on the first day. On the second day we experienced bruised apples on the nose and palate, very appealing. Had a nice mouthfeel with a very mousse. A beautiful champagne. Glad I have more int the basement to enjoy

Disgorge date I am unsure of, I didn't catch it. But as with the previous bottle, I really think that this vintage for Levant is drinking really well at the moment. Caramel, honey, biscuit, yellow apple, pineapple, pear and just an overall composition that reflects a ripe and flavorful wine with a really good balance. I do think the 2010 is in what I perceive as the peak drinking window, too.

Early dinner gathering (Blacksalt, Washington DC) : Expressive nose displaying ripe yellow fruit, apple, baked apple, peach, caramel, brioche, marzipan, sweet spices, white pepper and limestone. Very good concentrated, concentrated sweet yellow fruit, medium fine medium generous mousse, ripe and rich but also showing good balance, bright acidity, strong limestone mineral, and a medium ripe yellow fruit driven finish with baked apple and brioche at the end. The finish is slightly bitter which clips the finish. This nicely expressed the …

Rich, golden apple and citrus, concentrated, silky extract, mineral grip, long, sophisticated. Even the non-geeks noticed the clear class here immediately. Excellent.
