Bought from Verve in SF, who got it directly from the chateau. On the nose - baked meyer lemon, cantelope melon, vanilla and caramel. While there are signs of oak, it is very well integrated at this point. On the palate, peach cobbler flavors come to the forefront. Med+ acid does a nice job of balancing out the richness. WIML90 Tasted double blind. Light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of oxidated camphor, yellow pear and caramel. Flavors of lemon, lime, green apple, Anjou pear. Bright acidity, medium body. Drink over the short term. My guess was this is a 2010 California Chardonnay.

Medium gold. Every time I open a bottle of this wine I find something different. I had a couple bottles this weekend that opened with an explosion of coconut, which toned down as it opened. Then more lemon lift, apples, and richness without butter. A very good wine, and plenty of time ahead to enjoy it.

This is a fine wine, though I didn't like it as much as I have liked the 2009 from half bottle. Perhaps that's just a preference for the brightness of the younger wines. Slight breadiness on the nose, a bit of wheat cracker. Not a huge nose (at least not upon initial opening), there's a lot more in the mouth. Texturally this is gaining some weight from what I've read, and it shows in a lemony waxiness that I've noticed …

Don's 45th (Home) : Starting to darken just slightly. Showing subtle signs of age including a more rounded mouth feel. Lots of nice acidity and low oak along with rich concentration. (A-) Lovely chard. Beautiful golden color. Surprising and enjoyable viscosity on the tongue. Nice acid and fruit - apples, apricot, and poached pear. A definite brine/sea liquor element in the back really brings this home. Mellow with a slightest touch of buttered toast on the finish. Drink.

Enjoyed at the vineyard in concert with a light salad and fresh fruit. Soft, yet rich and earthy with a well developed structure, balanced finish and a complexity I've rarely experienced in a California Chardonnay. A pleasure both on its own and with the pre-dinner courses including cheeses and natural honeycomb.

A magnificent chardonnay, seeming to combine the best characteristics of Chablis and Puligny Montrachet, plus a tiny bit more ripeness. Lemon, pineapple, stony mineral, sea shells, brine, and a long finish. Extraordinarily complex for a chardonnay at almost any price point, much less $30. This will age well for 6+ years, though it's so good now, I don't see the need unless you prefer the wine even leaner and more minerally. What a find.

Really needs air to strut its stuff — very good by the third night open, the mineral spine showing the core of what this wine is even as it shows plenty of vanilla-laced pear and citrus fruit. Complex upfront, with stones and fruit flesh and cream and lovely lemon acidity nicely coalesced into a balanced whole, and then it simplifies and shows the barest touch of heat as it fades on the salty finish. I do wish the oak influence …

My first chard from them.....bright golden yellow, green tinge color. Fresh and shy nose of lemon/lime blossoms, apple, pear, chalky flint. Wonderful oily feel in the mouth, but also tons of minerals and citrus acidity...making for a perfect refreshing mouthfeel. White peach, crisp apple, ripe pear/melon fruit.....puckered up well with lemon/lime acidity, complexed with crushed stones, powdery flint, and a nice delicate touch of oak spice. Reminds me a little of Heitz Chard...but way more oily and complexed with tastiness. …

This is absolutely terrific. Light yellow color. Beautiful nose of apple, crisp pear, and oily lemon. In the mouth, elegant and delightful. Truly refreshing, with its layer of lemon-laced fruit, bright acidity, and a faint creamy note from oak. Long finish. More wines should be like this. A-/A
