Cameron Hughes Chardonnay Lot 465

A bit sweet with little going on, a disappointment for A Cameron Hughes product.

An easy drinking chard. Lots of fruit. Went well with a sauted chicken dish. Very good when sipping on a warm day.

Very nice bouquet. Somewhat buttery a la Rombauer. Nice finish

Fairly dark straw yellow and somewhat viscous, this is actually visually a little scary - it looks too much over the top. The nose, though, is really not bad, with butter and vanilla, true, but also wonderful tropical fruits, cream of tartar, and baking spices. There's maybe a touch of alcohol on the nose, though. Medium straw yellow color with moderate or less viscosity. The nose includes both apple and tropical fruit, along with a pretty good dose of vanilla and some yellow flowers over the top. The palate echoes those flavors, but with the addition of some solid acidity, and unfortunately a little too large a streak of bitterness, almost like biting on a citrus peel.
