Very tasty at 4 yrs of age, with more mineral and fresh cherry than when young. The tannins are noticeable, and have a very slight coarse/green feel to them, but it doesn't detract much at all. Good stuff.

Delicious and fully ready to go on a pop and pour. Still holding strong. One of the finest QPRs year in and year out. See prior note for further details of particulars; this is drinking similarly, but a little bit down on vibrancy. These wines are always best within the first year of release.

Légèrement déçu. Pas autant de plaisir que les vins de COS.

Alright, another fine bottle (I'm running a 50% corked rate thus far). This time I'm able to spend more time to note it. Color is fairly gorgeous. Aromas are lovely too, showing expressive graphite, lava, other minerals, a laundry sheet, blueberry, and generally, a fairly elegant, evocative, thick fruited but composed and balanced aroma. Palate entry is soft and smooth, showing bright acidity with plenty of dark red fruits (cherries, ripe strawberries). Really creamy and luscious in the mouth. Quite …

Lively, slightly sweet but very good accompaniment to food

Buono. Schietto. Vino bello diretto.

We really liked this wine. It was quite lush and a real bang for the buck.

Woohoo! No note, but just wanted to write saying that at least this bottle was proper, and confirms that indeed, the first two bottles from my case were indeed lightly corked. This had tons of fruit expression, like strawberry jam on the finish, and ripe acidity. Lovely balance. Look forward to noting another bottle properly. Certainly odd that the first two bottles of the case were slightly corked, though. First time I've had the first two of a case like …

I have no idea what's going on here, but this bottle tastes the same as the last. No resemblance to prior vintages, nor to what those below are noting. Feels slightly corked and flat.

Very lightly corked... I kept questioning whether it was corked or not as there wasn't an obvious heavy TCA aroma, but I'd occasionally get it, and it was always mute and awkward throughout. I'll try another one soon to confirm the flaw of the cork vs. the wine.

One of my all-time favorite any night wines. Bright red juicy cherry fruit, moderate tannins, perfectly balanced acidity. Stands up to food, is fantastic as a sipping wine. I thought the 2013 was fantastic - which it was - and this one exceeds it by a nose.

Enjoyed the '13, but only the '14 was available this time. No problem--as it showed as good as, in fact a tad better. Definitely benefited from about an hour of decant time. Allowed the tannins to soften and the cherries and red fruits to shine through. Good acidity to balance. Should last to 2020-21.

This stuff is so good - you just can't help but smile when you drink it. Where's the pizza? The charcuterie? Sharp acidity, yummy bright red cherry (tart cherry) fruit. A bit of a lingering finish. It will make you happy.

Raisins and smoke in nose. Taste: medium body, dusty tannin, crisp, sweet spice, smoke, prunes, long finish. Very nice.

Tasting of the Utrecht Wine Society (Utrecht, NL) : Tasted blind. Relatively pale colour; light but warm and mature nose, chestnuts, ripe berry fruit; soft and gentle palate, ripe tannins and acidity, vinous; light but warm finish, good length.

Great purity and length. Lots of things going on here... blueberry, dust, and minerality transitioning to sweet/tart cranberry and hints of camphor. Tannic backbone that is slightly pronounced upon first opening. Compelling wine.

Excellent wine, especially at this price point. Rustic and yet nuanced and balanced. Dark brambly flavors with a Pinot-like purity. Good stuff.

The nose is a little better on this than the palate. Cherry, wet earth, plum, leather, graphite, spice. A little acidic and thin on the palate, but still a nice drink. High but smooth tannins, medium+ finish. Great complexity, just a little off-balance.

Very aromatic. Berries, green stems, wet soil, underbrush, dried cranberries. On the palate: amazingly balanced, earthen cranraspberry with a subtle, bristling acidity that's followed by delicate tannins. One of the most enjoyable and complex light reds I've come across.

Nice, light and well balanced but does have some unusual flavors for a red wine which I believe will make this a mixed bag for most. My wife disliked it and wouldn't finish her glass. I bought it because IWC gave it a sky high score for this price range. I probably wouldn't buy it again.

Really enjoyed this one. Drinking well now. Lighter bodied with fragrant nose and good acidity. Typical Italian bitterness. Prominent root beer/licorice thing going on, also quite fruity with some herbal and foresty notes. A great pizza wine.

I don't know about you but I don't find a lot of nero d'avola to fit the description "refreshing." Maybe the Sicilians had that in mind when they created Cerasuolo di Vittoria and blended the nero with the lively and berry-flecked frappato. Some Cerasuolo remains shackled to ponderous nero, but once in a while you find a deft blend like this one and it can be delightful. It's kind of like the marriage of Hades and Persephone if I may …
