This bottle was slightly better than the first one I opened, due much to the fact that time has passed no doubt. Mellow with a hint of blackberry and velvet taste, this wine was helped by decanting for about 30-45 minutes.

I agree with the others who have drank this before me: lots of sediment. Noticed a slight alcohol or hot burning feel on the beginning of the taste. I decanted it for 20-30 minutes and it slowly softened. Funny thing was that while the alcohol taste left after awhile, so did any hint of complexity. Guess I will hold onto the other bottle for a little longer.

blech. Full of alcohol taste and more sediment than I oculd tolerate.

Heavily sedimented (just like the last one) and required decanting. Didn't find this bottle quite as enjoyable as the last one in January. Pleasant astringent quality, light oaky finish.

2000 Belvedere Cab. Healdsburg Ranches. Paid ~ $22 for two bottles at Metropolitan Market a couple of months ago. Enjoyed with family and a thick beef stew on a blustery January evening. The nose had a very alcoholic bouquet upon opening that masked its real character. After decanting for around 45 min. its true colors came through. (The high amount of sediment also called for decanting). Lots of luscious red fruits and spice. Didn't detect the tobacco or cigar box …

Nice fruit and some oak/smoke on the nose. Cherry and prune flavors, round and smooth feel in the mouth. Bought on sale for reasonable price, $15, since its probably at its peak.

Similar notes as the previous experience only with a different group of tasters. Again, the bottle showed an unusually amount of sediment for a 2000 vintage. The nose showed hints of oak, good eartiness, cassis, current, and berries - overall a good fruity nose with a robust earthiness. The taste was pleasent and full leaving you wanting another sip to further explore the flavors. I plan to go buy a case. I enjoy old French wines; however, old French wines …

I recently opened a bottle of the 2000 Belvedere during a dinner party. The wine was served with a Beef Tenderloin with Cabernet Butter Sauce. My guests and I took a moment to comment on the wine and the comments were rather consistent. We all agreed that the 2000 Healdsburg Ranches Belvedere had a surprising old French nose, showing strong oak and a mild smokiness with good earthy overtones, pepper, and hints of black fruit and cassis. The palette was …

Tasted over two nights with same results. Dark purple, no nose. This is not a good wine, no flaws just not good. I poured the rest out.
