Pichler-Krutzler, Ried Loibenberg Riesling, Wachau

This is an intense, "big" wine - but in the precise, acid and mineral slathered way only Austria can do. Slate, peach, honeysuckle on the nose gives the impression it will be sweet. But the palate is so acid driven with a major mineral backbone supporting all that fruit. Rounded mouthfeel - seems to be some mix of neutral oak or lees. Has the fruit and structure to benefit from this treatment. Probably some RS here - but it wears …

Really nice rich Riesling, good acidity, holding up well. Has much life ahead.

Riper and a little more flabby than expected (and hoped). While there is some nice minerality and ripe apple and pear fruit, this was not as zingy as I like.

This was nice right out of the gate, but it lost steam early on and within a few hours the bouquet begins to disappear. It had nice energy and acidity, good mineral and earth elements, but the fruit faded to grey before I was ready to see it go. 4+10+14+7= 85

Distinct vanilla on the nose. On the palate, tart green apple, white peach, and lemon citrus with a note of vanilla. This shows a hint of sweetness, but it's more than balanced by strong mineral acidity. Excellent, and a very good to excellent value at about $35.

Nez profond d'impression racé, c'est bien ouvert, invitant et sans réelle note de vinyle. Bouche qui ne manque pas de matière et d'intensité, mais plus tendre qu'anticipé. Finale persistante. Une très belle offrande.

Mon préféré de la soirée.Un vin quand même intense avec un nez floral. Une bouche mielleuse et herbacée avec des fruits comme les abricots et la pêche..Très intense et sévère comme vin. Pour amateur de sec !! 17.5/20

Ressemble beaucoup au Trum mais avec plus de complexité, encore une fois très très sec. Je donne le bénéfice à ce Riesling probablement bu trop jeune, mais pour l’instant il me plaît peu…

While this didn't come across as dry as i normally expect from Austrian Riesling (was told 5.7 g/L RS), this had very good minerality and fruit intensity. I liked this wine.

Yellow, green appearance. Racy, stony nose of green apples, lemons, melon, vanilla, minerals, and a lick of salt. Long, broad, and complete, with ample body, lively acidity, generous balance, and citrus, green apple, and white pepper flavors. Long, ferrous, pithy finish.

Intense yellowish green color, nice nose with aroma of tobacco, incredible depth on the palate with a rich white chocolate, green apple and peach flavors balanced with lots of mineral taste –Finish is creamy and spicy. Was an excellent match with Scallops, vinaigrette and Thai peppers.
