Rich, but one dimensional.

Nice nose with apricots, minerals, citrus, stone fruit, and a hint of honey. Great acidity in the palate with mineral driven flavors, more stone fruit, grapefruit, lemon, and melon flavors. Nice finish. Lovely wine, although perhaps not quite the depth that Prager can have.

Kane's birthday jeeb. Lovely wine; dry but never once feeling austere or lean; there's a richness to the fruit here that balances out the high acids really nicely, and layers of lightly smoky and stony mineral depth beneath.

Pop and pout. Slightly reticent at first but really hit its stride with 45 minutes of air. Loaded with sweet fruit, a big and bright wine. Drinking at youthful peak now. Delicious.

Dinner at Hermosa (Chicago, IL) : From magnum. Impressive stuff -- I've not had much Austrian riesling for a long time, but this hits the spot in the way good German GGs can. Fairly ripe, but with a modest herbal streak, and a little more oomph and flesh on its bones than most. Ready to drink now, but certainly interest as well as this ages.

On the nose clearly Riesling aromas, there is also some honey and smoke. The palate is different with grapefruit and a lot of salty, mineral elements. Mouth coating stuff with excellent length. Still pretty young, but no problem to open one already.

Golden yellow in colour. Detailed and layered on the nose - ripe yellow stone fruit, crushed stones, herbs, hints of honey. On the palate intense and concentrated, a little off-dry, lots of well-integrated acidity, saline, mineral, long and lingering. Lovely and a bit young still. 93-95

BM's famous brisket gathering (Bethesda, Maryland) : Medium expressive nose displaying ripe orchard yellow fruit, peach, peach cobbler, apricot, orange marmalade, saline, sweet spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, deeply toned sweet yellow fruit, rich and dense yet also precise and nicely balanced, good acidity and strong mineral, and a long sweet yellow fruit driven finish with sea salt and sweet spices at the end. Much sweater and deeper impression than the CSH.

Had at Gotham Bar and Grill. Fantastic wine that i thought was initially was a tad sweet on PNP but immediately tightened up and became more focused yet still broad (if this is possible) over course of two hours. Candied orange peel, Meyer lemon and rind, and as noted apricot etc. Intense; excellent weight and concentration.

PNP. Cork perfect. Some tartrate crystals. Swishing shows all acid structure but the fruit density is palpable. Sipping this shows saline but dense fruit and a long finish. I think that this is great tonight and don't see an upside to waiting.

Irgendwie zugenagelt lässt der Wein nicht viel raus, als Riesling blind erkennbar, dank der reifen Steinobstnase mit Zitrus, aber mit hoher Säure und im Mund eher verschlossen hätte ich auf einen Federspiel aus der Wachau getippt. Auch nach 3h Belüftung tut sich da nichts, enttäuschend für den hohen Preis.

So much depth to the nose, a bit more generous fruit than Klaus, a bit riper, richer. Intense, a bit more stuffing, powerful, fresh, saline, very very long. Excellent future. 94-95+
