Lite för kort tid och luft för Max behållning. Misstänkt något svagare flaska. Kan flera poäng högre än denna.

Great power but still sufficient balance to keep this attractive. Nose lovely and true to varietals.

We concur, a classic. Lovely bottle despite slight seepage from the cork (reason we opened now).

Clean and clear like all his Grenache. Focused, intense and with a great acidity balancing the raspberry fruit and anise.

Fantastic wine, still too young. I was expecting this to be a little farther along the development path (my last note said wait 4-5 years and this fell right into that range), but it was very similar to the last bottle in that it is incredibly young and shows little sign of any age. Red and black berries, strawberry, licorice maybe with a hint of creosote, all wrapped in a tight package with plenty of backbone from the tannins and …

Lil E, Named after Elaine Krankl opens with fresh coffee, blueberry pie, oak, and jammy black raspberries. Fat, rich and round, this mature, plump, Grenache wine ends with a melange of ripe, black and red fruits.

Sine Qua Non Dinner: the Younger Wines (Custom House Tavern - Chicago IL) : Black cherry on nose with lots of pepper and woody spice along with plenty of oak spice. Same black cherry on palate with some plum flavors as well, also accompanied by impressive spice. Really balanced and well structured all the way through to a long dense fruit-driven finish.

Rich fruit, tomato paste, sweet oak vanilla, dark cherry fruit, velvety texture. Another wonderful SQN wine.

98-99 point nose, ripe cherries and chocolate. Lighter in the glass than most SQN's which is to say deep red not black. Drinking particularly well. It has a long life ahead of it but no additional ageing is necessary IMO.

Dinner at Steve & Barb's house with Colonel Bob. Purple in the glass and full bodied this was a terrific wine. Very textural wine with ultra-Grenache features of a glyceral palate and great aromatics of red raspberries and coffee. Very long on the finish. A wine where words are escaping me as I just enjoy the pleasure of drinking this. In a perfect spot right now but I don't see it falling off a cliff. Thanks Bob! 50+14+14+9+9 = 96

Uncorked DK Sine Qua Non Event (and some pretty interesting jokers...) (Restaurant Premisse, Copenhagen) : Dark red. Intense and deep nose with an undercurrent of licorice root. Nice structure and concentration with very dense fruit, herbs and a nice bite. Probably didn't get enough attention as the second wine stole the spotlight. (Uncorked DK average: 94,6 - lowest: 94 - highest: 96)

Grenache! : This was a wow wine! Deep dark color. The nose was exceptional. Dark brooding fruit, black cherry, vanilla (vanilla ice cream?), cinnamon, brown sugar. This had a Port-like quality on the nose with pleasant sweetness. It had a definite new world profile and some immediately associated this with the first wine in the tasting (later revealed to be the Kilikanoon) and noted that wine number one was similar, but less muscular than this effort. On the palate, this …

Grenache y Mas Grenache-The Great CA Grenache-off (Cafe Cortadito) : Wow. That's not much of a tasting note, but that's what fills the mind. The nose is ethereal, both dense and light, with pure, ripe fruit intemingled with violets and licorice. It is rich and soft on the entry and the mid-palate of this wine was absolutely packed. You can just sit happy with it in your mouth as the layers go from vertical to horizontal across your tongue. It …

Strawberries combined with darker fruits - an interesting mix. Beautiful nose with fruit bursting forth. Slightly tannic on the finish, with a slight hard edge. If tasted blind, I might think this was a syrah, as it is a big wine. Will only improve with age, hopefully losing the edge on the finish.

Great balance and purity. This wine is drinking great right now...the tannins are very smooth at the moment. Maybe a bit too much wood for my liking. I am curious to see how this wine will age given the tannins are already so refined.
