Château Coudray Montpensier Chinon Le Grand Bouqueteau

Leads with earth/mineral notes, a bit simple on the nose… drinking is easy, red fruit forward, licorice, missing the stronger green/veg notes of some Chinon. Overall a nice and easy wine, good value.

CMS Blind Tasting Pours a medium ruby. Coffee, barnyard, orange peel, ripe/stewed blueberries and black cherries, tobacco (cigarettes), vanilla, caramel and cinnamon on the nose. Probably some brett on this. High intensity of aromas. The palate is much cleaner, and only shows a medium intensity of flavors. It loses a lot of the non-fruit stuff from the nose; but keeps the oak, which screams "new French" to me. Medium + body with medium acid and medium lingering tannins. Call - …
