Bedrock Wine Co. Carignan Bedrock Vineyard

These just aren’t my style. Tart, salty dark fruits, monolithic. Bitter finish. I’ve had Carignans that are enjoyable. This one seems like a blending element more than a stand alone wine. Day 2 update. More fruit breaking through. Still some bitterness and an appearance of a little alcohol burn. Might be better on day 3, but I’ll never know. My advice is hold for awhile. 3-5 years at least.

Interesting that Mootsie notes TCA because I popped one of these and it was ever so slightly TCA tainted. You could still get a lot out of it, a sign that the wine is great, but the TCA was clear, and I certainly wasn't going to stand for it, so a second, utterly glorious, bottle was opened immediately... ... the utterly glorious bottle is redolent of sweet blue and black fruits, violets, fresh linen on the line, dusty gravel road, …

Very floral nose. On the palate it’s a step down more medium bodied. Lots of fruit. Not overly complex at this point. A little tart on the finish. A bistro or table wine. Day 2 isn’t much better. Even a little TCA. 86
