No formal notes as this was consumed during family gathering chaos, however, it really impressed all. One of the favorite still whites of the week. This is the style of Chard for me, clean fruit, minimal oak influence, & bright acidity.

Ed Kurtzman Dinner (Luciana's, Dana Point, CA) : This shows much more sweet fruit with a brightness compared to the 2007, I guess that's to be expected. Lighter in weight at this stage, nimble on the palate, with a slick mouthfeel. A hint of jasmine lingers at the finish. This is very easy to like.

Ed Kurtzman Comes To Dinner (2015) (Luciana's In Dana Point (South OC)) : Like the 2007 which we paired in the same flight, it has an apple quality to the fruit but this time, rather than yellow in tone, this is all pippin. The 13 here is more trim than the 07 with same lemony acidity, too. The finish shows the same lime quality and a touch of green banana. I enjoyed this. Oh, and like the 2007, no new …

I think this is pretty well made but it just isn't in my wheelhouse anymore. We drank it along with a Picq Chablis and that's just where my tastes are now. This was fairly rich wih some oak and vanilla cream, whereas the Chablis was more chiseled, acidic and minerally. I'll pass on these from now on.

Really enjoyed this wine last night. Aromas of citrus/lime with some mineral. Tart apple and pear, some cream, popped corn and a little oak. My tastes have shifted more towards white burgundy as I like the lemon, acid and minerality, but this was very nice and we both enjoyed it.

Very pleasant wine that I brought along to a new neighborhood byo. Light apple taste with just a hint of oak, and everything in balance.

2009 California Chardonnays (Bi-weekly group blind tasting at Tom's House) : Blind tasting of 8 2009 California Chardonnays. Group's #4, my #5. I could not place the nose at all, it was subtle. Maybe a little green apple and tobacco aroma? Another burning hot finish on this one.
