A wine that brings back many good memories😊 Soalheiro was a pleasure to introduce to the Danish market, Luis a fantastic person and winemaker👍 Primeiras Vinhas 2012 is still intense, now dominated by tertiary aromas. Fine fresh acidity and long lingering finish. Perfect match with anchovies on toast. 94 points

We really liked this wine when we first tried it around 2.5 years ago in 2013. Not so much with with this last bottle in the cellar, so either a possibly a bad bottle or perhaps past its prime

It takes a while before it opens up, but when it does it´s generous and fruity (grape, lemon, pineapple) with a touch of minerals and white flowers at the end. On the palate it´s just as generous, with a good, silky, smooth body, refreshing acidity, and a fair amount of lemon and exotic fruit. The finish is more than ok with some minerals right at the end. I think this wine will develop even further, and for the better, for …

Nectarine and white floral nose. Nectarine, pineapple, and grapefruit on the palate, which boast a very good balance of acidity and fruit. Voluptuous mouthfeel, like an Oregon pinot gris, but with an astringent finish, which is actually a nice touch. Interesting wine. This gets better with time in the glass.

Weekly tasting group #129; Portugal (@ SB) : The bouquet is still reticent, but there are white fruits, grasses, hay and minerals. Also the palate is still locked and there is a very firm amount of acidity. Also a bit salty impressions. Give this enough air or wait a few years. For today 86+.

No formal notes. Had this days after one of the normal Soalheiro Alvarinho. The Primeiras Vinhas was much more austere and not as fruit salad dominated as the basic bottling. I don't think that the Primeiras Vinhas is really an improvement that deserves double the price.

I agree with JVG. Very nice nose of fruit and flowers, and exotic fruit combined with lemon on the palate makes it a nice experience. Easy drinking with lots of taste.

Smell: fragrant ripe peaches, floral, citrus. Taste: Ripe stone fruits & melons, slight minerals, slight grapefruit, hint of vanilla. The ripe fruit flavors dominate over the the minerals & acidity, making the overall taste a bit heavy with noticeable RS. If you're looking for a lean & tight white wine, look elsewhere.

Color: Straw yellow Nose: Explosive bouquet of fresh fruit and flowers, with dominant fruit aromas of yellow and white peach, pear, lychee, and a lemon-lime citrus backbone combined with perfumed white flower notes of gardenia and lily. Mouthfeel: Voluptuous but not fat. Palate: The fruit is more exotic and tropical here than on the nose, tending toward pineapple, mango, and kiwi. Very generous and forward, but has enough acid to stay lively. The finish is clean and crisp, and the …

Light straw color. Pretty nose of white flower, honeysuckle, apricot, white pepper, and saline. Medium to full bodied, with good acidity and a round, creamy mouthfeel. Aside from the body, a light flavor profile, with some lemon, green apple, grapefruit, and subtle stone fruits. A mineral hint lingers. Very fresh. Medium finish. Nice wine, but I think appropriately priced in the $10-15 range. Worked fine w/ scallops tonight, but aperitif or salad pairing (not too strong/acidic dressing) would be better.

Picked this up from Cinderella wine, if I recall. A bit overhyped, but low $20s, which is what WineSearcher shows, not the price of $50s here. This gets better with some air. 12.5% is modest for white wine, but in line for the region and style so no extra brownie points for that. Light, pale yellow color. Nose of white peach, tangerine skin, white grapefruit Bright acid in the mouth. Could use more texture in mouth & mid palate, but …

Very fine crisp and aromatic white wine with good weight and clean refreshing finish. Aromas on the nose include crisp citrus fruit and zest accompanied by mineral and floral nuances. Complex although young. Palate has much more weight than expected and a broad flavor. Very good wine indeed.

Fantastic wine! Very expressive nose with lemon curd, orange and stony minerality. Medium-bodied and light on its feet, yet very concentrated with bright fruit, crispy acidity and a long aftertaste of orange zest. On par with a top dry riesling. Terrific value.

Youthful lemon-gold followed by an aromatic nose of lemon blossom, citrus fruit with hints of see-breeze minerality. Elegant but not loose with good concentration of flavours, precise fruit and subtle complexity. Fresh with medium term ageing potential.

Fresh smell of apples. Overloaded by fruit. Good concentration. Low in acidity. A very good wine in its style, but not very interresting. Reminds of a new world wine.

I like this Alarinho Verde when it is fresh, as it reveals an exuberant aromatic profile with tropical fruit and floral notes. The palate is balanced and solid, with a core of fruit and a mineral wrapping. The finish is medium-long with notes of citric fruit and bluestone. Vinho Verde at its best. Drink between 2012-2013.
