blind We get 3 Rieslings blindly. This was the first. I guessed a hotter year as 2005 or 07 and Pfalz or Nahe. A bit too much yellow stone fruits and a hint too sweet. The bottle was greatly stored. A had this bottle "much" fresher in my memory. I was surprised of the vintage. The second bottle was much fresher and more precise. I guessed Pfalz, someone said Idig. I said never because I'm not a big fan of …

Opened the bottle 1h before the first glass. In direct comparison with IDIG 2005 and 2007. Straw yellow. Slight petrol vanished quickly, fruit developed in the glass. Very nice freshness, yellow fruit, minerality, long finish. It will not improve with further cellaring, but hold on this level for a few years. The best of the three vintages. Pleasure for lovers of matured Riesling

This bottle was from double Magnum (!!), not blind. I had one week before Idig 2002 from Magnum. So big differences. The 02 was phenomenal fresh and balanced. This one was good, a nicely aged Riesling but maybe a bit over his top. Creamy, peaches, apricot and honey. Some nuts in the finish. For a 04 lacking aciidty to give him legth and precision. Anyway great wine. 92-93

Some Impressions; 9/15/2018-9/22/2018 (Concept Riesling Dsseldorf) : Dark golden in colour but much fresher in palate. Wet stones and a lot of green tea in mid to late palate. Nice starting Risling aging signs but the finish is with cracking citrus notes dominated. I#M not sure if this wine is on is peak or as many other guess still a long distance runner. I would drink now and in the next 2-3 years. Again an awesome wine from 2004. 93

Many people like old Idigs. I couldn't find the holy gral yet. Often too broad and too aged even in this cool year. Very good Riesling but not my favorite. 92

great Riesling, perfectaged with a great balance, ripe passionfruit, pineapple, mango, a lot of minerality, acidity cuts through the fruity elegance, potential to 96 (50+5+13+18+9-10); VERY LONG FINISH, drink it now or try it again in 5 years,no petrol signs yet, great, better than the G-max 2012 in the flight for me at this stage

First approach to this Groes Gewaechs, needs several days to work out, then outstanding balance. Fruity and spicy, very dense, ends long. Will wait some more yrs. for next bottle, best drinking on day 4. Needs to be decanted for 6 hrs at least.

Frankland Estate International Riesling Tasting - Workshop #1: "New Wave from the Old World" (Sydney, Australia) : This wine had an intriguing, complex nose of peach, pear, lime, kiwifruit, passionfruit, spice, minerals, slate and hints of yeast. The palate has intense flavour and a beautiful line of acidity cuts through any hints of over-richness. Finish lingers for a long time.
