Wow, nach wie vor eine echte Größe. Bereits kurz nach dem Öffnen in der Nase komplett präsent. Noten von roten Früchten, mit etwas Pfeffer. Im Mundkomplett anders, fein balanciert, etwas Kirsche, aber auch hier noch Cassis, dann wieder etwas Pfeffer. Abgang mittellang, weich und harmonisch. Sehr gut.

Outstanding bottle! After reading prior reviews I coravined a glass a few hours before pouring to assess how much air is needed. The verdict was that this is best between 30-90min after opening. It seemed to shut down quickly after about 90-120min so I coravined the first half of the bottle to minimize air contact for the second half of the bottle. Italian night : Super Barolo, at peak. The high altitude of the vineyard has, I think, helped this maintain its classic Grasso purity of fruit and freshness even in this relatively warm year. That, and the tar and roses, had me thinking La Morra rather than Monforte, but I can live with that in this case.

Wow, nachdem die letzte Flasche bereits abgebaut hatte, steht diese in voller Kraft da. Die Farbe Kastanienrot im Glas. Schöne Noten von Kirsche, Heidelbeeren, etwas Cassis und mmmmh. Rund, harmonisch, lang anhaltend. Barolo wie ich ihn liebe. Respekt.

I was expecting slightly better given the pedigree of this wine. Colour is medium red, nose opens up pretty average, signs of dried flowers, a bit of earthiness and pencil. Tannins were just medium also, which didn't trouble me too much given the fruit was already well integrated. Floral aroma with sweet fruit upon opening. Decanted for 1 hr. Slight bricking at rim; beautiful garnet color in glass. Velvety with present, but nice tannins and balanced acidity. Fruit was prominent Raspberry with underlying strawberry and a hint of red cherry. Nice wine that has a lot of life left if stored properly.

I agree with the description of the aromatics. My bottle definitely had some bricking but we are three years after the last tn. It was decanted for about two hours and seemed to get better with time as some of the astringency wore off. Pretty decent bottle but nothing to write home about. I like Barolos but it seems like you hold them forever and then it's still just a crap shoot as to whether you have a great bottle …

This is garnet-colored, with perhaps just a hint of browning. It features very pretty aromatics—with caressing notes of violets, dried cranberry, cool herbs, soft balsa wood, dark cherry and a nick of jalapeno.
