Very restrained on the nose. Faint aromas of violets and smoke. The pallet opens up with dark berry fruit flavors with hints of baking spices. Modern, harmonious and sleek. Full bodied with chewy tannins.

Dark purple. Blackberries and blueberries on the nose. Maybe a little leather? Something else on the nose that I can’t place (not entirely pleasant). Maybe green stems? Taste is smooth. Moderate tannins. Great expression of great.

A very respectable and enticing RDD young Tempranillo. I think this even has the capacity to flesh out and improve with several years time. Poured a rich purple hue. A touch of pleasing Brett/funk on the nose which dissipated after 30 minutes or so. Violets, dark berries, loam, and some menthol on the nose. Medium to full palate presence with blackberry and assorted dark fruit. Tannin a bit rough and not integrated at this early age. Best paired with food …

De color rojo cereza picota de capa alta. Intenso en nariz, donde predominan los frutos negros y rojos con una base de madera tostada sutil pero de calidad. En la boca es amable, de gran estructura y amplio, de posgusto largo.

Fresh berry fruit in the nose; tart on the palate; went very well with grilled sirloin. Holding up very well for a 2015.

Our vintage year to celebrate our anniversary and it lived to the occasion, it felt matured yet with plenty of life ahead. Great mix of fruit and barrel driven notes, smooth tannins

Excellent Tinto Fino wine; delicious at 15% alcohol; nice tannin and acidity - I believe still has a few years to mature, yet drink pleasantly now.

A private lunch (Restaurant De Hoefslag *, Bosch en Duin, Netherlands) : Wonderful ripe fruit, the sweetness accentuated nicely by the saltiness of the hard cheeses that accompanied it; good intensity and energy, perfectly integrated oak, polished, hint of tar, medium weight, ripe tannins and supporting minerality; very good length. Showing well, drinking at peak.

- Garnet color. It's balanced and has flavours of honey with a medium/full body. Polished texture with a medium finish.

This one needed to open up quite a bit before hitting its stride. Good the first night, a little bit too much wood and alcohol though. The second night it is as perfect as this one may ever get. Cherry, licorice, black pepper all present, and the flavor of plum really came out the second night.

Dark red with burnt brick edges. Raspberry compote, earth, and roses on the nose. Medium bodied, dirty cherries, pepper, herbs, grainy tannins, tobacco, dark chocolate, some heat, and a medium finish that featured a few moments of pure red fruit in the middle. Good on day 1, better on day 2.

pnp, consumed over 2 days. day one was much better than expected. tons of wood (a touch out of balance), but dusty black cherry and steeped tea to make it very pleasant. definitely some alcohol, but not too distracting. 20 second finish that begged for another sip. this lasted a couple hours before the wine started to decline, and some bitter plum skin notes started to take over along with the alcohol. that made it less enjoyable, and persisted into …

We had this at a friends “after Christmas” dinner on 12/26/11. It had a dense, fragrant and beautiful bouquet of black cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, cocoa and spice aromas. The palate was big, bright, ripe and dusty dry with flavors of black cherry, plum, blackberry, minerals, cocoa and spice.

A wine from the Emilio Moro team. Instead of the normal "Bodegas Emilio Moro" where they use 220 liter standard barrels, they use 500 liter barrels for this wine. The reason is to make a more modern fruit forward style. And comparing it with the "Bodegas Emilio Moro 2006" they accomplished what they wanted. There is a little less vanilla from the oak and the mainly black fruits and tannin are very friendly. Although this wine is more expensive than …

Darker than the Rioja. Still very purple out to the rim. inky 3 An unusual high toned note Floral-honeysuckle? licorice? also strawberries and cherries powerful and complex.5 A heavier moth feel than the Rioja which was the star at the tasting, but here several days later, this Ribera has opened up with a truly unique personality. soft acidity, marked tannin, a bit of bitterness on the extended finish. Unique. 6 nicely balanced, refined 3=17 Wait a few years to open …

9 months after prior bottle and this time decanted for 3 hours. Medium-dark cherry color. Nose is medium to high intensity, ripe fruit in liquor, flowers, smoked aromas. The palate has improved somewhat, either by the time in the bottle or by the extra aeration. It is medium bodied, fruity, black pepper, intense, no astringency, and again, what I previously perceived and that is what I think stands out more, a remarkable long finish. 89+

Decanted. Dark crimson color. Completely closed on nose, just a few notes of ripe fruit. Half an hour after decanting, and after much removing the glass, wood and cracks of liquor appear. I looked for something, removed, retasted and nothing, everything is very flat. Medium body, slight astringency and a roughness and harshness quite latent that make up what perhaps is the the best attribute, a remarkabe very long finish. I think this is a good wine that at this …
