McKellar Ridge Shiraz Viognier

Lots of spicy notes on opening- indicating wine has aged well Dark purple in the glass- no indication of a fading shiraz. Typical cool climate shiraz restrained red/black fruits a little acidity silky creamy mouthfeel. Medium body- tannins now gentle-with a touch of pepper on back palate. The finish was reasonable short but pleasant. The wine being under screw cap can last another 5 years easily- whether it improves is debatable.
