This was tasty and paired nicely with pecan cream cheese pie for Thanksgiving dessert. As expected, it was sweet and acidic. Tasted of honey and apricot with a slightly herbaceous finish.

Delicious. I can hardly rate this, as I so rarely drink Sauternes. It felt like very solid value at $30/375 ml, with plenty of highly expressive honeyed apricot, tropical fruitcake, tangerine marmalade, etc etc, name your typical young Sauternes note here. Nice energy and clarity for such a sweet wine, felt more about brightness and punch than serious depth. So far, I've tasted two nice young inexpensive Sauternes (both seemingly very good value) and one more expensive aged one (an …

Feinduftig, frisch, mit Zitrusfrüchten, Blütenhonig, Mandeln, Datteln und gedörrten Aprikosen; dichter Gaumen, wirkt kompakt, zeigt dabei Frische und Eleganz, hervorragende Säure, grosser Spannungsbogen. Einmal mehr ausgezeichnet.

Vanilla, pineapples, white peaches, lemon curd, and honeyed mangos are at the core of this wine. The palate is bright, fresh, sweet, and fruity, with a candied lemon character. You can enjoy this paired with select spicy, and savory cuisines, or on its own for its vibrancy, and sweetness. Drink from 2027-2040. 91-93 Pts

En Primeur campaign for the 2024 vintage Day Two (Bordeaux) : Fresh orange, a little lemon, touch of almost custard apple, slight apricot, sweet spice. Juicy, mean, to offset the luscious sugar levels, a little lemon citric note keeps the wine fresh, silky burr, touch of almost peppery spice on the finish. Interesting

Nose of pineapple and underripe peach. Flavor is much less sharp. Very light honey, slightly underripe peach, apricot, ginger, very mild golden raisin, slight cereal in the finish. Pretty nice balance between the sweetness and acid. Slight sharpness in the underripe fruit quality maybe the only knock but pretty nice.

During fantastic lunch in Jisp with "het Alternatief" july 31st: Rich in color, nose and mouth, with apricot, orange and beautiful botrytis. the only downside was the abrupt, dry and short finish.

Full and aromatic nose with gooseberries, stone fruit compote, orange marmelade and slight oak. Medium bodied palate, balanced sweetness and an early, tart acidity which fades rather quickly. The finish is regrettably short.

The 2020 vintage UGCB tasting in Amsterdam 03/06/2023 (Amsterdam) : Maybe a bit provocative? Fresh ctitrus, modest sweetness, a hint of botrytis, very tasty and well made considering the modest vintage.

Tasting with 4 friends. Excellent value still. Full of life. Very Good example of how Important age is for sauternes. Compared it to younger sweets like CHPeyraguey 2007 and Coutet 1997. the DV Took the pool position. Deep yellow, impacts of Honey, mocca and beautifull almond underneath. As usual when you have a very Good sauternes: too complex to describe all facettes properly...but thats usually the Proof that you enjoy a great bottle. No need to hurry; years ahead. Mind …

It was absolutly amazing. It tasted horrible but at the same time, it was like something I never had. It was just too acidict, with a taste of "I don't know what" which made it truly horrible and amazing at the same time. Interesting to drink, absolute waste of money if you want to buy it. :-) But at the same time, this bottle was 75+ years old. :-)

Elegant. (April/Mai 2021)

Lemon chiffon, ginger, flowers, vanilla, honey and orange cream are on the nose. Sweet, juicy, and focused on honey-coated yellow tropical fruits and candied yellow citrus, there is ample freshness to balance the sweetness here. 91-93

Fruit forward with loads of apricot paste and honeyed citrus. Medium bodied, good amount of acidity to keep the palate fresh, no signs of votrytis here but flavourful nonetheless.

Distinctive nose of citrus and candied lemon peel, all very clean with some oily weight and ???? Full dense and concentrated, with an olive oil-like viscosity, this is deep, spicy and peppery with an uplifted, bright finish.

Aroma: Some Burnt sugar & creme brûlée, ginger, tree bark, frangipanni. Lovely caramelised Apple ending, and persistent acid in the backdrop . Balanced. Bitter sweet palate due to its ripe old age . Need decanting .... and this bottle was tainted with a bad cork !!!!

Nice old Sauternes. Not overly complex but had nice marmalade and honey suckle profile. Very pleasant.
