Cousin's 75th birthday with chocolate cake so finally got to this bottle. Still in great shape...

Deep orange / ruby. Diluted ink and cocoa nose with sweet fruit, red licorice and flowers as secondary aromatics. Not heavy, but semi sweet with some persistence. A nice way to finish two fine days of feasts with family. (92)

Brilliant ruby – no bleeding. This wine has a wonderfully complex nose of sweet golden raisins, prunes, cinnamon and vanilla. Intoxicatingly fine!!!! The raisins and prunes continue mixed with a bit of caramel. Distinctly port-like in flavor, though lighter and with more zip. Very nice with steamed chocolate pudding – good sweetness and full flavor profile that is not overwhelmed by the dessert but not cloying either.
