Nice, unusual. I see the connections stylistically to sort of a big rrv Pinot. But it also has a blackberry bramble note and a little Rutherford style dust on the finish. Tasty but not easy to pigeonhole, and certainly not in line with my expectations of a PS

Not what I think of as typical petit Sirah. Blue fruit and floral nose. Smells soft and delicate. On the palate I found it a bit thin, yet smooth, but had grippy tannins that hit you on the sides of your mouth. A bit herbally. Definitely wasnt a smack in the face. Felt like it had some finesse. But I really cant tell if I dont like the wine or if it needs some more aging.

Just ok- Had with pork bbq not enough fruit or sweetness or acid to be a great pairing with the bbq. Had after dinner as well and not enough complexity or flavor to be great by itself. Nothing bad just not seeing a food pairing or reason to drink this vs other selections. Ok if looking for something different to try.

A little like a merlot with tannin. Inky purple, blackberry pie on the nose. More of same on palate with some rhubarb and spice and tannins wrapped in glycerine. Nice wine.

OG N.58 Petite Sirah hails from the McDowell Valley, a relatively cool, 1000-foot elevation site in Mendocino, and is sourced from 40+ year old heritage, head-pruned Petite Sirah vines. I have to admit that I am only tangentially aware of Mendocino's McDowell Valley but I found this wine to be not just compelling and unique, but downright delicious. Its dark but hardly inky, beautifully perfumed and lithe on the palate - a terrific combo of peppery, robust Petite Sirah structure …

My wife told me that she had opened a bottle in error and it was recorked and in the fridge. I glanced at the bottle shape and assumed it was a Pinot Noir. Upon tasting (gently spiced indian lentils and chicken and mustard seed and curry leaf spiked zuccini) thought it was one of those strong RR Pinots..but not exactly. So finally looked at the bottle and was surprised that it was a Petite Sirah .. too used to them …

2 hour decant = not enough. Very dry and tannic. Hold or 24hr decant next time. Tried with pulled pork, was hoping there would be some fruit, sweetness and acid coming out to play, but no.

A very full-bodied crimson in color Petite Syrah from McDowell valley. It offers dry, rich blackberry pie, thyme and other herbs, as well as dark cherry. The wine is velvety and integrated well. However, the acidity was lacking on the back end. This finally came together on day two. I would not touch this currently in Fall 2022 and would wait another 6-12 months if possible. However, if you are prepared for a long decant, this might please you now.

Somewhat closed. Big bodied, but not giving up much. Potential.

PnP: on the nose I get fresh dark fruit, a bit of green, spice that clears the nostrils a bit, and cherry. On the palate, the entry and mid palate are surpassingly clean finish a is a bit sharp and the tannins are powerful. I suspect time in glass will benefit this wine. I do not get any hint of 15% alcohol. 1hr: surprisingly, the wine has gone backwards and really fallen apart. Nose is a bit more Cabernet …

Just wonderful - big, bold robust . I refer to this as a Cab lovers petite sirah. It hits all the points for an aromatic wine, dark fruits, some sweetness, just dark rich fruits with a wee bit of spice at the end for me. This is an easy drinker both with & without foods. Very consistent with all the prior notes and what I recall from prior bottles. I know that Cam said in march 2022 to hold on …

Totally consistent with prior notes - Delicious and a Big wine. Not too sweet, has nice pepper & spicy flavor upon drinking. Aromas of rich dark-ish fruits. I cannot lie, I really like this wine and convinced my "cab only" friend with it as well !

Seems harsh. Peppery, dry. Had with pasta & meat sauce. Almost tasted better without food. But still dry. Was uncorked for several hours. Maybe should have run through aerator.

I thought this was very nice - fruity, fresh vibrant and not very heavy. Paired very well with cheese/crackers and again nicely with hearty beef dinner. As described, it was very dark in the glass, with fruit aromas & flavors. I am very pleased with this purchase and hope that the rest are as good! Excellent QPR!

Very nice petite sirah. Excellent early drinker. Everything that a quality p.s. should be about, without excesses. Great bargain, would not mind paying $30 for it.
