This was the last bottle of a case that I had bought more than a decade ago and it was outstanding. Cork was in perfect shape. Good example of the complexity and aging ability of Sojourn's single vineyard PNs. Nose was in good shape w/ dried red and purple flowers and dessicated red fruit. Palate was long and concentrated with intensity and gorgeous integration. Beautiful tertiary flavors that lasted and lasted. Acid was Med+ and beautifully cut through the creamy …

Finally popped this double magnum at a Flyertalk travel wine dinner at North Square in Greenwich Village. An aged pinot noir is always rewarded. This was a dark color and was singing to the max. A few tannins would suggest you can hold onto this for a while. It was my WOTN. Drank this with a steak over 2 hours. Slow-ox'd for 30 minutes.

I enjoyed this more that a bottle about 2 years ago. Still plenty of dark and red fruit and structure. Plenty of alcohol as well.

Much lighter color than the RRV from the same year that I just finished. Translucent ruby. Nose is floral with graphite and red fruit notes. Plate is full, round and just a bit viscous with darker red fruits, nutmeg and cinnamon. Finish is medium length and integrated throughout.

Brick to ruby, rim fading to rose and consistent with age. Medium legs. Clearly red fruit aromas of strawberry & cherry, with medium toast, oak and vanilla as well. On the palate, baking spices are subtle but also present. Medium body, polished texture. Medium finish, medium plus acidity. Fruit and wood tannins. Impression: varietally correct, has aged well. At $40, however, QPR is below average. Drink now or next year.

OK, let's recognize the obvious: this wine is almost 10 years out from vintage. Most Cali pinot noir's don't hold up that long. This one drank well (first bottle we have opened from our cellar in two years). At the same time, I agree with the observations of some CT posters that it is showing some age. Not going to wait on the last bottle in our cellar from a case purchase years back. We're been big Sojourn fans since …

Still a beautiful clear garnet. Nose of red fruit and a hint of rosemary. Palate of slightly darker fruits, but of menthol and cedar. Smooth and soft palate. Medium lengths finish. Showing very well for its age.

Still medium light cherry color. Nose is aging, ruler cherry pit, sandalwood and baking spike nearly gone. Slight tinge of oxidation from age. Will appeal to some, turn off others. Time to drink.

Drinking very well now. Fresh cherry, earth, hints of cola and baking spice. Medium tannins, light acid, a bit of oak. New world sure (I usually prefer old) but well made, tasty and enjoyable.

This wine still has legs to go on! No brown tinge in the class ... still bright. Cherry cola, a little earth and vanilla on the nose and with those, add in a little spice on the palate. Great balance of fruit, tannins and acidity. She had it with grilled salmon and with a grilled rib-eye for me ... wonderful!

I would have loved this wine 5+ years ago but today I just like it. It's full bodied with lots of ripe fruit but the 14.5% abv really distracts from the overall enjoyment.

This wine has improved since my last tasting. A little age on a Sojourn is always rewarded. This was smooth and singing. 'Mike on Tour' dinner at Ping's in Chinatown NYC. After 120 minutes, this was an 'Oh Man' wine. Wish I had another. Drink or hold.

This PN effort from Sojourn is at a great spot right now. Bing cherries, cranberry with a nice long finish. Great QPR. If you have this, drink up, or you can wait another year. See it fading after that. Wonderful wine.

So good. Matched up perfectly with the classic french food at The Blanchard. Probably shouldn't wait too long on our last bottle, although that's not to say that it's flattening. PNP, and was good over app. 2 hours. The forrest floor was there, and it also translated to the taste. Thank you to Sojourn.

Opened and poured at cellar temp. As it opens, it shows big, rich aroma and texture. Definitely more on the fruit-forward side, with ripe strawberry and red cherry preserve notes. Noticeable baking type spices too, perhaps from the oak. White pepper helps to temper the intense fruit flavors. Solid acidity, but it feels a bit tacked-on and not quite integrated. Soft, mellow tannins. Overall I think this is a very vineyard and vintage-correct California PN. If you prefer this style …

Slow-ox'd for 45 minutes. Dark color. Rich. Wonderful (perfume) nose. Cherry, spice. All the standard Sojourn characteristics. I love my Sojourns with age. I have one bottle left, and will wait until 2017/18 to drink it. That bottle is a double mag.

Possibly the most Burgundian of Sojourn offerings. Cherry, tea, raspberry, and earth with a mineral steak. The acidity is just about perfect to balance the body and fruit.

Prior bottle was almost eight months ago and notes were fairly similar. Remains blackfruit, floral and spice on the nose. Clearly was once very much fruit forward, now headed in a more balanced direction, but still not quite there yet. Black raspberry was predominant backed with black cherry and then sliding in hints of red cherry in the far background. Still has enough acidity for structure, but the fruit seems to be winning this battle and structure is integrating faster …

This is the best Sojourn Pinot I've had in a few years and I've been steadily plowing through my stash going back to the '08 vintage. Based on some earlier tasting notes, this seems to have shed some of its baby fat. Lighted bodied than most Sojourns. The nose has a wonderfully expressive floral nose with pure red fruits. Palate has tart red cherry and raspberry. Lithe and fresh. Finishes with wonderful acidity before the profile turns a little darker …

Consistent with my 7/4/13 notes. At that time I said wait 12-18 months. I got six months. And then I had about a third of the bottle two days later. It was good the first day, and better two days later. This would suggest that I was correct that this wine will benefit from a bit longer aging.

This was a big wine. Waited an hour after opening before I took the first sip. Mid-weight color, but not taste. Fruity nose to prepare you for what you're about to drink. Smooth and elegant. The Ridgetop is what I conisder to be the more complex, cerebral member of the Sojourn pinot family. This one is closer to a burgundy. Deep ruby in color. With time in glass, it morphs from a red fruit bouquet to then also presenting the panoply of herbal and forest floor aromas of a classic burgundy. The taste is full and lingering. Needed time to get to the point where I was tasting everything that I was smelling. When it …

First I should admit that I'm not a big fan of Burgundian wines...way too subtle for my palate but I thoroughly enjoy this beautiful wine. Nose was earthy with mild spices. It was rather sharp when I opened the bottle so decanted for over an hour before pouring. This just evolved to a more delicious wine with every sip and by the end of the evening it was singing. Palate was smooth and then smoother, elegant and soft. Hard for …
