Ilia Estate Saperavi Taoba

I bought this wine experimentally on the basis of a good review in a French gastronomic magazine. My tastes usually coincide well with those of French gastronomic critics but not in this case. It was quite full and round but the aromas and flavours commended by the critic were drowned on my palate by a strong malty undertow and there was very little acidity and structure resulting an overall flabby and cloying impression.
