Opawa, Pinot Noir, Marlborough

Light to medium, translucent red. Slightly sweetish nose with cherries, ripe strawberries, some spice and undergrowth. Somewhat light-bodied with a rather dry palate, red berries, rather pronounced mineral notes, slightly viscous mouth feeling, light tannins, some alcohol and bitterness towards the end, and a long aftertaste. Less fruit-packed on the palate than the nose led me to believe.

Loved the range of fruit characters in this wine, from blueberry & white fleshed cherries, to raspberry and some spicy notes. Nice length on the finish and good weight in the mouth. Nice wine.
