Little improved since last opened, now nearly 10yrs old, however, very classical, not surprising. Decent but not exciting.

Un 2015 di grande eleganza. Naso, palato di notevole piacevolezza. Lungo, con ancora una grande freschezza. Stiamo parlando di eccellenze. Grandissimo vino. Ha ancora potenza e possibilità di ulteriore invecchiamento!

Came across this hidden gem, walking through Rue Cler looking for something to drink at our hotel with an improvised charcuterie board. Nice to find something on the shelf with a little age and solid vintage. I've found Listrac is also somewhat underrated being off the river's edge, willing to give it a shot based upon vintage and reasonable price point (30 Euro). Uncorked for 3 hours before drinking. This was very enjoyable, black/red fruit, coffee, cocoa, earth notes. Very …

Decent, classic Medoc, though with a bitterness and slight burnt edge to it.

Classical Bordeaux, linear and well made. Enjoyable but lacking a bit of personality.

Finally coming around. Lovely, mature-ish claret. Drink or hold (in 375ml).

Bottle #2 was just like the first. Touch simple but lovely nose, taste, and finish, thanks to being from a double magnum. See 3.31.2021 TN and my comment.

This was an auction double magnum for $48 or $12 a standard bottle, Great QPR. poured into 4 bottles size 750ml and sealed each with a champagne cork. Nose of black berry, plum, mushroom, and tired spring flowers, same on the palate, tasty, mouth filling fruit, touch simple, hints of soft tannins on the back of the palate, very fresh due to double magnum size, medium/long finish, thankfully from a great vintage so tasted rich, slightly complex, and nice nose …

Very open and attractive, there are plums and cassis, along with figs and chocolate. Plush and smooth, it's very inviting and food friendly, particularly where sweeter fruit based sauces might feature. Nothing profound, but holding very nicely.

Very pleasant. Still lots of fruit - this has not dried out at all. Fairly simple & monochromatic. Surprisingly short finish. Stored in my passive cellar since purchase. Tasted over two days, the wine held up surprisingly well on day 2.

I shouldn't have drunk all those before (see 05/05/12). This was a lovely, strong Medoc. The tannins were still evident, but really silky and the fruit was still there. One more left and I hope it's as good as this.

Confirming last month's bottle was typical I guess. Old, dusty; OK with food but otherwise increasingly skeletal Medoc. Drink up.

{cork, 12.5%} Smelt very lean and with an oxidative touch upon opening; got a little better with time, but not much. Leafy but not unripe bordeaux; probably helped by the generous vintage, but the fruit going in here was only of medium quality I reckon; it's got that just-too-old quality, without the compensating complexity. Really needs food; then its shortcomings are minimised, the short hollow finish among them. Light/medium weight effort now well on the downslope; drink up.

For such a everyday medoc this wine has a few pleasant surprises. The colour is still slightly purple only ageing at the rim. There is fruit, mushroom and old cheddar cheese on the nose. The taste has some hard tannins and savoury flavours that may merge with the dark fruits over time. It does fall away quickly.... But it has interest beyond its pedigree.

Mild aroma. Spicy and peppery at its core, with a stronger finish than the nose suggests. Tannins are still kicking. Some vanilla and mushroom. Finish doesn't last.

Big, wide glass of moody fruit that dropped off quick towards the end. Kind of reminded me a bit of a California Zinfandel actually with all that black fruit

It has lasted well, but the tannins have deposited and it is quite soft. Otherwise, characteristic Medoc, but not complex. Worth noting that all seven bottles so far have been excellent.

Nice old world nose- mushrooms, vanilla, subtle floral notes. Tannins are softening, bit austere on the finish and it does not last more than 10 seconds. For the money, not bad. I would drink it up as nothing here will improve over the next five or so years. This is what a call a really good Tuesday night Bordeaux. I had mine with a leftover turkey salad sandwich, my daughter had a small taste with a bagel and egg sandwich …

- Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of mushroom, dusty and smokey and has flavours of coffee, cedar, vanilla and bacon with a light/medium body. Round texture with a short finish - Don't know why but opened it while having pizza. Was very happy with this wine. Woodsy, earthy, dry and clean. Wish I had more just like it.

From 375. Lots of earth, mushrooms, and stones on the nose at the pop. After about an hour in the glass the black fruits and currants began to balance out the earthy flavors. Still a good amount of chalky tannins in there and mild acid. By about 3 hours in this began to fall apart in the glass a bit. I wonder if this is suffering because it's from 375ml or if this is really where this wine is. That …

Decanted one hour and a half before drinking. Purple, little brownish colour. With the decanting lively, good fruit in the nose. In the glass good, clear and fresh fruit in the nose, although the wine is to cold. Taste: again clear and fresh fruit and a rather good structure. A hint of chocolate and mint/After Eight. At the end – probably because the temperature was better – the taste became more rich. Fitted well with the lamb of the dish. …

Cheap buy from the supermarket wine store for just 10 euros. Wonder how it was stored over time... Very aged bordeaux, still enjoyable, spicy, but not much body and fruit left. Dominant madeira-like aftertaste lingers on. Over the hill.

I’ve tasted this wine together with Chateaux Maucaillou ‘01, Bernadotte ’00 and La Reservé de la Leoville – Barton ’96. This wine was by far the darkest of all. The Fourcas Hosten is, as its reputation implies, a very crude wine. In the beginning the smell of tar, horse and fat brown gravy. Later a very dominating smell of paprika salami developed. The taste remembered me of leather and very dark chocolate. For the price I got my hands on …
